The one day I decided to drive on a prepped drag strip surface I did on my Integra :lol: But I've always had better luck consistently launching n/a 4 cylinders...

OP, Have you also tried slipping the clutch more while you launch it? And what RPM do you launch from? It might be smoother if you can launch at a lower RPM like 3k or so too
:lol: The violence on the first attempt is unexpected. :lol: . Solid advice if this is a drag racing situation. If so a stiffer spring or stiffer settings on the shocks for the rear will reduce wheel hop . These settings are obviously not going to work for a circuit. The fwd Honda forced induction class cars have huge metal plates for the front to keep them down .

It is actually not the launch causing the wheel hop—->. I can be rolling along, say 5 or 10 mph in first and then nail it. Traction loss and wheelhop! Ugh!
