It is not an official ITRCA event. I'm not trying to discourage from it. We're working on an event for later in 2025. It's a fan / community driven event by Andrew Meek. We are not affiliated with it but hope it goes well. What I have in mind has been in planning for a long time.

Community is too small to try to do multiple events imo

I agree that multiple events can create that issue. It can also create momentum. Unsure what we will see on this one. Our Expo Reunion idea is a bit bigger though, and we have discussed it with a couple of groups / events that are our longtime friends. If it works out, it should be a fun one for both old and new faces.

This event isn't being coined as an ITR Expo / Type R Expo by Andy and nor should it. Rather, it is a community gathering, which I am a fan.

The key is the Type R community has generally had many events throughout the year. Examples include the annual Thanksgiving Meet, older spring cruises on Shenandoah hosted by JonD, various track weekend gatherings throughout the year, or even the Turn1 track weekends Andy Meek drove a decade ago. These events are not zero sum, but I respect that many have a limited amount of vacation days that require planning in advance. Ultimately, I feel community events bring the community together, and Expo is an example along with these others.

Stepping back, it's clear you have feedback, so if you have submitted via the survey- thank you! If one hasn't yet, please do share. We (Expo leads) are listening.

Well schedule dependent I am good for an ITR expo event - especially if east coast - or if some guys on east coast pool for a transport of cars

I appreciate your mindset towards a wiliness to travel, as the caravan was generally half the fun of attending Expo. It's also a good reminder that everyone has to travel to the event, some far, some close. The longer caravans were actually more fun, as they extended the time with quality members of the community via the trips there and back.

It starts by sharing your feedback (via the survey link above) to the Expo leads, so we can steer what merch to create, to get the club financially able to deliver such an event worthy of your travel and vacation.

As a new member, I honestly hesitate to commit to a large long distance event. I know more events are "harder", but smaller regional events can be easy to organize, low/no cost and build a larger community that can then support the full on Expo event.
So, though I would love to partake in a national event, I hope that you all organize some local/regional events. Arizona has a pretty strong collection of active FK8s and FL5's with a few ITRs too. Hopefully such local events would be able to 'activate' such groups all around the country.
