I had a local muff shop custom fit one off a Magnaflow Accord version to keep the 2.5" piping.

shi - who needs to do some adjustments on his exhaust as the twinloop muff piping slightly hits the lower arm every so often.

Are cats on other Integras the same? Or is the Type R cat different
Integra LS cat and Type R cat have different part numbers, but they both fit. I had a comptech carb header, integra ls cat and USDM b pipe and axleback as my exhaust setup for a while . If you find a gsr car, 00-01 will fit also.
One thing about the aftermarket cats make sure it has a rotating flange or one that actually fits. I have a feeling the reason why some aftermarket testpipes and cats don't fit b series exhaust piping is because they are using D series flange fitment. I had bought an invida testpipe that also had the same issue as Cap's experience with magnaflow.
I bought an "eastern" 49 state cat off rockauto and ran it for 3 years with piston rings that were allowing blowby, it was holding up for autox for me, no rear o2 error.

I spent 9 months failing emissions in Arizona for nox to high. For obd1 cars they do a im147 which is a simulated drive on a dyno. I had a brand new magnaflo cat. I ended passing with car sound cat (a now defunct company used to make them for any application or swap). The car sound cat also lasted about 2-3 years before the honey comb would let loose . I also needed a cat and ordered a bolt on unit .I wasn't to excited when I saw magnaflo on the box and just like cap experienced it wouldn't bolt which defeats the purpose paying for a bolt on unit .

The cat with the heat shield is from an em1 and the other is from an R . The magnaflo was clocked the same as the civic. The civic one is also slightly shorter. They did have the length right so I am not sure what model it actually fits.

There's a guy you can message on Facebook and he makes a "custom" cat with rotating flange. He's apparently familiar with R's etc. I bought one from him but haven't used it yet.

So here's the deal. My friend just bought that 1994 Integra RS with the ITR bits. (It's in the non ITR classifieds here) The car failed the California emissions testing. Smog shop told my friend that a new cat should work.
The car has the ITR B-pipe and axle-back muffler and I'm assuming an ITR cat. I'm not sure which DC Sports stainless one-piece 4-1 header it has. I didn't see any part number or CARB number. Just a DC Sports plate on the number 2 pipe. I'm not familiar with all the interchangeability of Integra parts so I don't know if an RS/LS/GS header (stock or aftermarket) will bolt on to an ITR cat or if you need an ITR header to bolt on to an ITR cat. I'm assuming the ITR cat has a larger interior diameter. I'm going to look for a cat/exhaust thread that I think was on Team Integra that had all the different part numbers and lengths for the different catalytic converters.

Thanks for the info. I'll look into getting an RS/LS/GS cat or GS-R cat. I'll also let my friend know about the flange fitment as he was considering a CARB legal Magnaflow cat.

This was the eastern cat I have with the rotating flange. I did have issues getting the factory bolts/springs to fit, it was doable, but required some muscling to get it to fit.
It looks like they make a CARB legal one

So are we saying the replacement catalytic converters from Rock Auto work with the rotating flange? My daily driver (2000 GSR) has a bad catalytic converter and I'd rather not run a gutted one or test pipe due to more exhaust smell.

In my experience it fits, and you don't have to worry about the flange from the header and cat not matching up.
