It's mine and I love it. It replaced my 997.2 Carrera 4S 6-speed. Sure it's not Porsche fast, but the ITR totally lives up to the hype.

Regarding price, I'm not concerned with what the PO paid or how he found the car. Everything was perfect, turn-key, and described very conservatively. I know people hate when opportunists/flippers start buying their favorite car, but I don't think he was the type that does a quickie cosmetic detail and then oversells the car's quality.

I also wouldn't take what I paid as an indicator of market value. I didn't buy an investment. Something like this is a special treat/toy to me. I was willing to pay up for something in original shape, because cars like that don't come around often. You could have 99.9% of the fun for half the money in a less original/higher mileage car, or buy a similar one for less if you're willing to wait around for the right seller.

So don't worry, I'm not going to lock it away and rub it with a diaper. I loved my 90s Hondas and this takes everything to the next level. Driving it is simply a joy: All the little improvements work in harmony and add up to more than you see on the spec sheet, but you guys already know that. :)

Great stuff! Congrats on the purchase. Sounds like you know what you bought and how to use it in your life; which is all that matters  .

Congrats! I also went from a 993 (97 C4S) to ITR and haven't look back.

Ok the Porsche was a fantastic car as well. 8-)

That's quite the endorsement! I've never had the pleasure of driving an air-cooled Porsche, but they're supposed to be great.

I liked my 997 a lot, but you need to track a car like that to really enjoy it. On public roads you'll run out of nerve way before you run out of driver skill, power, or grip. The ITR is rewarding to drive at sane speeds.
