Yeah it is a shame.
On the upside, I was able to successfully prosecute the individual and got active time to serve.

I don't think my state would let you register that car. They would definitely impound it as you did. Crazy how it has a smorgasbord of stolen parts. What a shame.

Good job Nate! I remember you telling me about this at expo.
Someone went through a lot of work to drive this.

This ITR has a heck of a story. Very cool you were able to save it from being crushed. Hopefully it can live on with an enthusiast.

What state are you in? You will have to do your homework, but I am more than willing to help anyone with questions.
This vehicle is legal. Its being sold by the state of VA. I went through more than you can imagine to have the vehicle titled under the police department as the owner under the ITR VIN prior to this auction.
I personally hope someone finds and buys this then turns it into a track car.

This is awesome! Props to you little nolan
I could imagine CA would have a fit if they knew about the VIN swap nonsense. Somebody on the east coast should definitely show her a new life.

I am in Arizona. I am not in the market. If it is titled in your state it would probably transfer smoothly. Yet getting pulled over with the vins will probably lead to some problems. If it is salvaged and needs to be restored they check all the vins receipts and so forth and adot officers conduct it. Good job on recovering it and saving it . That is some dedication .

Thanks! The CA is well aware, it took a heck of a presentation to the court to explain the whole deal, including a PowerPoint I built, but was worth it in the the end. The offender was prosecuted for the VIN swaps and convicted.

We're going to try to get this car to make it a track car assuming we can get it for a good deal. Few questions to those who may know...
1. I do not see the ABS fuse box, was ABS deleted?
2. Do we know the actual ITR number that it is?
3. Is this thing going to be a total rust bucket from sitting outside [at least] two years in the grass?
4. Is it anyone else here on the site bidding? If so, I'd love to come to a truce so we don't screw one another in a bidding war lol
5. Is there any chance this thing is clipped? Hence the red from the firewall-forward?
