That seems a bit high to me. Thats higher than my regular policy I had with Geico. Of course it depends on driving history, coverage limits, deductibles, state, etc.

Here is my coverage with Grundy. $20K stated value, $500 ded, unlimited miles, and I maxed out most of the coverages. I am actually going to bump up the value to $25K which is about $70 more a year.

Team Grundy here. Just changed agreed value to $25k 18 months ago. I went from $20 to 25. They asked me to provide info why I thought it was worth that much so I gave them some BaT auction listings as well as personal FS ads. They reviewed info and pictures of caR they requested and sent me back approval 2 days later.

$439 year for my PY, i just renewed policy 2 days ago. Im 33, driving record is...ehhhh, car has 90k miles.

Thats $36.50 a month. Yea... I'll take that.

Does Hagerty put a limit on the number of miles your R can be driven?

When we bought our R back in 2010, Hagerty would not insure it. At the time they didn't consider it a collector or specialty car.

Our R has been insured with stated value with our insurance company and they limit the number of days you can drive and not the miles. How would they know how many days is beyond me.
Hagerty has always been a bit weird on what they will or will not cover.. as in each person seems to decide by themselves. I had an ITR with Haegerty during that time I'm pretty sure. A buddy and original 97 ITR owner had his with Hagerty since 2004 or 2005. Initially they wouldn't cover my 94 MR2T which is also very limited in the US but after providing some documentation they accepted it.

Either way I've moved to Grundy. IMO the application process is more annoying but consistent.. oh and it's about 50% cheaper in my case at least. upper $700s a year for 2 cars with Hagerty vs $404 with Grundy.

Sometimes I'm tempted to switch from Hagerty to Statefarm, who insures my dd. They seem to have a good rate for "classic" (I think that's the category they call it) cars.

This is something I need to do as well. Very happy with the feedback I'm reading regarding Grundy. I have been putting it off switching insurance companies, but my experience with Hagerty and Grundy in simply communication has been night and day better with Grundy. Not sure what's up with Hagerty since I see them not affiliated more with SCCA. Figured they would be pretty understanding...guess not. RTW DC2Rsold me (and reminded me) on Grundy!

Rene, there is no mileage limit with Grundy. I specifically asked the rep I was working with and she said no limit. Obviously you cant use it as a daily and they expect you to use it on a limited basis (car shows, cruises). She even said it was ok for road trips, such as to events across country. They will require proof of your daily driver.

I had our agent quote through Grundy and was told that they would not change their value of the car for a stated client cost. Looks like my next step is to call them directly.
