I checked my JDM wheel a while back while getting it retrimmed to see if it uses a takata airbag.

I'm not sure if this helps, but I couldn't find Takata anywhere on the airbag as the brand, and the airbag was made in europe. Don't recall the country at the moment.

I can’t find the manufacturer on the jdm unit either. The 97 civic one I have that is included in the recall, I am unable to locate the manufacturer as well.

I took apart my spare JDM SRS wheel and there are no manufacturer names on the airbag unit. The stickers on it just reference Honda.

The recall in my opinion should include the 92-95 civic and the integra. Here’s some photos of my 2003 or 04 crash when the airbags didn’t deploy. These are pictures of pictures on windows vista pc . I am not going to log on to anything to send these as there’s no support. Image

A drunk driver tapped my rear bumper I looked in my side mirror and and he was three lanes to the left. I thought he was running away. He dozed off and went back across the three lanes. He swiped my front end and put me in a spin like the police chases . I spun around several times and then was struck head on by a Pontiac. No airbags either front end hit . The medics arrived and was in awe I was walking around. In retrospect I think the airbags not going off was a good thing in my instance. Every lane stopped when I was sitting backwards on the freeway and was struck. I was holding the brake pedal and released it as she struck me so the car rolled with the collision. The car was still running and I stalled it after the accident. I started and reversed the car to the emergency lane . I was shocked.

Honda, if you are listening ? I do have the airbag from the driver side that didn’t deploy on my girl friend’s 1997 civic , if you would like to take a look . Unfortunately, I can not locate pictures of that car’s damages .
