Best of luck! I look forward to updates in your build thread.Dc2-ProductionS wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 8:18 amCar is not in running order yet, so have not yet tested. However, I do have continuity through and through. All plugs and clips are connected, and all wiring colors match up.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:58 amWere you able to successfully test? That wiring work sounds daunting, I hate to hear you had to rewire, but I hate wiring.
I will report back on this thread for others once it is running to confirm this fix.

Re: OBD2A / OBD2B Harness Question
Everything worked as it should, tach is reading without any hesitation.coolhandluke wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2020 8:12 pmBest of luck! I look forward to updates in your build thread.
Also to clear any confusion, i did not mess with coolant temp sensor at all. It is working 100%. Only lines needed to be changed were Blue wire from dizzy to driver side shock tower plugs and de-pin / re-pin firewall EVAP male plug from black rectangle to gray round
Hope this helps anyone in need!

Re: OBD2A / OBD2B Harness Question
It’s great when people ask a question and follow up with the end results. Ht is full of threads asking questions and no follow up. Sometimes I see people responding it’s old and to search. I will then search for the original poster and I don’t come up with the users answers . This site really seems to be more of a community. Thanks for confirming.

I agree. We as a community are caught in a chicken or the egg scenario, after our forums content were destroyed. It's up to us to document and share. Social media and other sites are not sufficient when searching for answers.Stin1 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 06, 2020 2:54 pm It’s great when people ask a question and follow up with the end results. Re: OBD2A / OBD2B Harness Question
Can you show any pictures of what you had to do to add the wire into the loom?

Re: OBD2A / OBD2B Harness Question
I did not take any pictures during this process. I actually did a time lapse video instead, but the angle doesn't show the harness itself as much as it shows my hands frantically at work. lol
The loom is mostly just taped closed plastic sheath. Carefully untape or cut and carefully peel tape off the open each section. I made sure to only work 1 section at a time so things didn't get out of hand. The wires themselves are pretty strong, so don't be afraid to get in there and move some things around.
Just be extra careful if you bring a knife or cutting tool close!!

Re: OBD2A / OBD2B Harness Question
Whoops... I made that previous post way too hastily.
So my situation is pretty much like yours, but I went the ghetto route and clipped the blue wire coming out of the distributor, spliced into that and ran a wire to the tach signal plug on the DS shock tower plug.
So are you saying you de-loomed your harness and did it the cleaner way by running a wire from the blue wire from the distributor all the way to the blue tach signal plug and pinned in there?

This.
Yes. Take care when de-pinning if you dont have the correct tools. Plastic. Breaks. Easily.... LOL
