JDM-R motor torn out with EXACTLY 3,000 miles of use in this caR and one year EXACTLY to the day it was installed.

4/7/23 - Motor installed
4/7/24 - Motor removed @ exactly 3,000 miles on the dot. This is the 5th car Ive had this JDM motor in, and she has served me EXTREMELY well in every one. This motor stays with me forever.

Our goal was to be 400+, but we have a few things limiting us. The log manifold is hurting us, and then the recirculated pipe is a bit too high to flow properly. The return tube should be further down by the flex pipe/o2 sensor. This would help with back pressure and flow. HOWEVER, she was nice and smooth and made decent power. For going around the track, 300+ is going to be plenty.

We made 312 / 220 with the tune able to run a track course for 20-30 mins if I can keep cooling down. Not too much pushing on it, but enough to power to have some fun. Got heR back home and got the front splitter back on and some other things tightened up. She's good to go for some pulls and fun out on the road. 3rd feels like a monster. I gotta get used to this!!

Stay tuned!

The engine story trips me out. You'd rather blow up a usdm C5? But fun is fun, and its still one hell of a build log :trophy:

I'm not a fan of FI ITRs but glad you're enjoying the car. Looks beautiful!

The block had already been modified and was acquired in a bundle package for not a lot of dollars. I have (2) other basically 0 mile, OEM refreshed C5 engines. I know the possible risk, thats why we tried to overbuild it. 14 year old me has been dreaming for a long time for this! LOL :D The '97 is 100" raw OEM ITR, the '01 has some Spoon and other bits on it, and this '98 is the modded, fun, embarrass some shit talkers on the street!
