Last weekend I installed the antenna mast. It was five minutes to remove the antenna nut and the mast. Few seconds to install the new mast. Over a hour to get the new antenna nut to catch the threads. Old ones and aftermarket I could attach no problem. I have done this a few times now and the new nut always is a problem.

^ my antenna is a jdm unit. The mast Acura gave me has this and won't work with it. You have to pull it off. I don't know about a usdm antenna

lol ! It does give it a rc car appearance. I think the integra antenna compliments the body lines in my own opinion. It looks naked without it. I think the s2k one doesn't flow well with the body lines. I thought about the manual version in the tech section but the black tip bugged the heck out of me. I did get behind the same car listed for the part number and the one on that car was chrome like our cars. The terrible grinding is gone on my antenna. Next time it craps out maybe I will look for a used manual antenna for the chrome tip. Next up I need to fix the trunk so I can open it without using the key.

This thread is not in chronological order. A few weeks after purchasing the car the ac tensioner pulley bearing failed and began making nasty noises. I purchased a new one from Acura and it was of course not zinc. I kept it thinking I can press another Japanese bearing at a later date.

Two weeks later the same pulley bearing failed on my snatchback. I called for the pulley and it was discontinued. I don't know if I got the last one but no longer available was what I was told. Stin1 isn't down with no gatorback or any of the aftermarkets so I went shopping other similar models. Em1 pulley was available from Honda. Now the pulley was a different size was already known to me. It fit no problem. The actual pulley is a superseded part for the em1 as well. The other part eliminates the flush Allen bolt with a actual bolt and has some bearing races and spacers.

I’m hoping my antenna mast works. Worse case scenario Bluetooth will work!

I had the same pulley fail in mine last year. Pretty spectacularly too. Started to whine, then grind then there was a clunk and a smell of burning came into the cabin. All in a few minutes. I had an anxious moment with plenty of expletives.  Until I spotted what it was.

I could have ordered the whole pulley from Honda and it was still available in my neck of the woods. IIRC it was something like 80 quid. So more out of being a cheap so and so I removed the pulley, read the specs from the bearing and got the same size from a local engineering place and pressed it in. Job done. According to the lad in the shop the new one was of a better quality. Cost about ten quid. . As I say I'm a cheap so and so...

+1. I was tempted to go the S2000 route as I was given one for nothing, but after I fitted it I personally didn't like the look of it. Completely by chance the new antenna core I got looked identical to original and went in handily enough.

Sometimes I still wish I had a powered antenna b/c I've nearly forgotten to manually move it up for my morning commutes. But for the most part I leave mine down since I use one of these with the oem radio.
