Thank you sir . It's not really as intense of a restoration as some of the other members builds . It's been fun so far.

What's up dudes and dudettes? Today I resolved the infamous 98-01 integra actuator. There is a thread on the internet about using crv actuator and swapping the rods. When I looked at the thread the pics didn't work. With that said I didn't know if fit right. So I went the correct part number from Acura. This thing is expensive for what it is.

I put it in today. Surprisingly Acura didn't take two weeks to get it . Even more surprising they had in stock. Here is the old one out.

The new one in . It took about 25 minutes. No problem. Mine included the plastic rod fastener that was not included on the Eric is the car dude video.

I didn't realize they went up in price that much? I could have sworn they were under 100 when I bought mine 2 years ago

Did you check how your original one failed? The actual plastic piece on mine didn't break like what I read on the internet.

I like to fix things and wanted to see what failed. I have repaired a six disc changer from alpine/ Acura so many times and the culprit was the ring worm popping of from the extreme summer heat here. I disassembled it . Expecting worn gears because of the grinding noise it produced. Sure enough.

As you can see ring worm is metal. It is also super sharp. My fingers are cut from touching it. The gears are plastic. Look closely at the teeth. I applied power with it opened up . Sure enough that was failing point. In my case if I could obtain a part number for the sprocket or gear this part could possibly be repaired very cheap.

What country are you in ? I think you used the word quid in another post? Maybe we have different dollar values? I think when I checked the crv part number it was $89 . I usually get wholesale pricing. No shipping charges but I pay sales tax.

If it skyrocketed in price it doesn't surprise me . The 96-00 civic power mirror switch for example, I have two receipts showing I paid $40 wholesale because they break often out here from the heat. These switches are now $125 and $150 wholesale. That is a crazy price difference for another little simple electronic part.
