Besides the fact that I pretty have no idea what that means lol, why wouldn't they be the same codes?
Not all the journal sizes are the same down to 1 ten thousandth of an inch. They make like 10-12 different bearing thicknesses to choose from for main and rod bearings so they give you the codes to decipher which bearing you should use.. if you look in the engine overhaul section of a helms manual it's pretty informative about it.

Awesome! Pretty interesting. One of my dreams is to build a b-series engine from scratch. I have a couple books but haven't looked thru them yet.

Such a nice selection of bottom ends. Are you saving the R dot block? using it as a spare/backup?

IS the USDM C5 the OG motor? If so please keep it #'s matching! Looking forward to updates either way.

No the numbers matching block is long long gone. Blown to bits over 15 years ago.

That's why I went with an RDOT block.

So not ready just yet to come home, but boy is she looking good!!! Not a dent, ding, or bubbled seam on the caR! Lots of time getting heR perfect while using the least amount of material possible. I'll have some cleaning to do on heR underside Im sure from being in the body shop for almost 2 months, :| but super excited to see that NH0 shine in the coming days.

On to the pictures!!

The bare rolling shell will come home with no doors, hood, glass, fenders, bumpers, etc. This will allow me plenty of room to get everything put back together. Once everything is complete, I will bring the caR back to the body shop to re-trim and insert all the glass, hang the doors, and put all bumpers and trim on to make it complete.

In the mean time I have come across a few finds that I couldn't pass up..... Best one being this puppy

USDM C5 complete swap minus headers and axles. Annnnnnd shes out of a '97!! 67k miles on engine, 15k miles on replacement RDOT OEM trans. This is scheduled to arrive on Friday, so I will have some updates on it after the weekend when I can tear it down for inspection. I know it needs some serious cleaning and attention bc the previous owner sprayed the block and head black for some STUPID reason.....
