Unfortunately they’ve found a good deal of body filler but they‘re getting it all cleaned out and repaired.

Sounds like ~3 more weeks depending what rain does.
New bumper or is that the original ls one ? I love the updates. Thanks.

They’re used OEM bumpers from eBay. LoL
I shopped around and found ones that were rough but complete and repairable.

I wanted to go with the 97 look but my LS front bumper had broken tabs and the rear was destroyed when it was rearended.

The shop did a fantastic job getting the used eBay bumpers repaired and sealed up!

For some reason they had the “Integra” impressions covered (taped) when I took the photos but they confirmed the OEM bumper impressions will remain.

More updates from the body shop.
Body lines are starting to look sharp. Still a ways to go before paint yet :)

:D
Not sure when they’ll be ready to paint. I’m guessing 1-2 weeks based on progress.

Dumb, Stubborn, and bound to end up penniless…….

Post by aklackner » Fri Mar 22, 2019 7:03 pm

Started playing with an old OEM '96 Spec JDM exhaust manifold. Originally thought I'd take it for extrude honing but that was going to be $500+.

Then the local shop that offers this in LA didn't seem to answer their phone ever so I started looking around and found these cool ball brush hones by Brush Research they are about $18/ea. on Amazon and figured I'd buy one and see what I could do with it.

To test I ordered the 54mm (brush is probably 1/4 larger than, listed hole size) in 180 grit and some "flex hone" oil. Photos below are after(should have grabbed some before shots) maybe a couple 1-2 minutes, with my drill on a relatively slow speed. I'm impressed by the results, I doubt extrude honing would have been significantly different result. ID measured 55mm pretty evenly around after. I ordered a couple more size brushes now to do the smaller dia. sections then it will be off to be abrasive blasted, then I plan to spray with Zybar (not sure if I'll coat inside and out or just outside).

I did a poor job cleaning it out after so the little specks and dust a bit deeper mostly came from blowing out the O2 sensor threads and just didn't get wiped out well
