IMG_1750.JPGdc231 was the devil on my shoulder and sent me this picture. So I had to get one myself. I also got the ignition/ steering cover which I already planned on. Mine has a hole from a led for a alarm. All these parts were expected the next day out of la to az . Instead it took about two weeks. All three parts were cross shipped from everywhere. The third arrived yesterday. I may install these tomorrow morning.IMG_1805.JPG
cant wait to see the pic of yours installed!! it will be in much sooner than mine..

Glad to hear no CEL so far. Hope that fixes it for you.
I had the same issue with the floor mat anchor breaking on my brother's 2002 civic. At the time when I saw it after doing an oil change for him I attributed to him being rough on the car
I am dealing with a p1457 as well since May. I have a 2001 which has a different cannister and evap purge valve. I borrowed spares from a local ITR owner and my cel still keeps coming back. Replaced gas gap, no dice. Cleaned and capped off the bypass valve on the firewall, no dice.
I am taking it to a second shop next Thursday for a smoke test.
The cel is driving me crazy.
Curious to see what your smoke test reveals. Did you a new bypass valve and vapor canister valve instead of used ones?
I've always wonder if anyone has actually had their ECU actually become affected due to this CEL....

No I have only tried the used cannister and used vent shut valve. I figure the odds are very slim both of ours had failed. I tested the vent shut valve and bypass valve (on the firewall) and both solenoids click fine.
I will let you know. In fact I will make a big p1457 post if I finally get this resolved.

That sucks. My brother's shop doesn't have a smoke machine. So far that light was out. Do you smell anything? I would smell rotten eggs when the light would come on . When the plug wire broke it smelled like charcoal and rotten eggs. Like really bad. Really really bad for about a minute. After that happened the light was turning on quite often. When I got the car no charcoal canister was installed or a cat. It really smelled.
No I have never smelled anything. Just keeps coming on despite changing and cleaning parts. Usually the cel comes on when it is cold and then driving for 10 minutes.

At least I am not the only one with the anchor breaking. I found a few threads that are older and the ecu was replaced. Some under warranty . The evap lines are discontinued on the 98 . Curious to see the other evap system if you don't mind posting it here. My 2000 civics I believe have the same valve but the huge vent lines like the later integra.

I am wrong. The 2000 has a different unit on my civic.

I can confirm the units are different between ODBIIa and ODBIIb.

Your 2000 civic looks like my 2000 Integra LS and my 2000 civic EX daily, which would coincide with coolhandluke post the obd2A and obd2b being different. I would assume the 2000 ITR and GSR are probably similar.
My integra's rubber lines now are kind of custom now due to the GSR motor and skunk2 intake manifold and endyn catchcan. I seriously had one person on nwp4life facebook page think I was dumb for wanting to keep the evap system even though I'm on Hondata, but I can't stand the smell.

It gives me headaches , the evap to me is a must
