In regards to the new AC caps you received. Those aren’t period correct. The ones you took off are. Honda most likely superseded the part to a newer “updated” version hence why it doesn’t thread on as you are saying. Personally I’d clean up the old ones! :D

I’ve search a lot of pictures and found these caps on many original owner 98’s though which was odd.

Finally got to put a few miles on her tonight. Well, only about a mile but still lol.

Let’s warm her up. Making sure all signals are working. I have two 194’s out in the rear.

Ignore the plate. Oops.

So, what did I gather from tonight short trip?

-Still have a minor exhaust leak. I believe it to be coming from the hack job of a cat that’s on it.

-This clutch is horrible. Some garbage stage 11 in here or something.

-The tires are a tiny bit noisy. That, or a wheel bearing coming.

-I love this fucking car!

Any reason to take heR out! Looks great.

I may stand corrected on the high and low pressure caps. Can anyone verify the correct factory version at the time these cars were new?

My 2000 LS has two green caps with different L and H labels for AC. I don't think they were ever changed before and I would guess the R would have the same, just not sure if Acura would have changed between years.

Are the tires new? they look like rt615k+ I wouldnt be surprised if it was the tires making the noises, most 200tw tires sacrifice ride quality and nvh for performance

Great. I mean they’re just stock, but great. I definitely want to give the same treatment to the rear now.

Tires aren’t that new I don’t believe. Never checked the date on them but they’re at about 5/32nds tread. They’re Azenis in a 205/50/15. I’ll be switching back to the original 195/55/15 size soon enough.

Went to install my new PCV stuff when I realized what they had going on here. They didn’t have the PCV in the correct grommet one too in the manifold. They have a long hose as you see, directly to the canister and the PCV valve directly into the canister. I only ordered the top of the hose. I’ll be sure to get the rest this week. Here’s what they had in it smh.

Image

I’ve seen a few different battery tie downs on ITRs lately. Can someone with a 98 confirm this is correct? I’ve seen another that has a longer front brace around the battery.

Image

First fill up on the way home. Also noticed something weird here. It took about 10 gallons which was normal. Was almost empty. But after the pump clicked off as full, I noticed it was only a bit above halfway full. My ride from the station to home is only a half mile so no time to wait and see how full it showed after but I just thought it was weird how slow the gauge reacted. Maybe something to do with the lack of charcoal canister? Idk.

Image

I also recharged the AC today and installed the missing grommet around the line and evaporator core I was missing. New hardware also (sorry no pics) but after noticed my condenser fan isn’t on so AC only gets iced cold when moving. I need to diag this further.
