This feels like a decent deal. How much do you all reckon that the lack of vin-matching transmission impacts the value?

It used to bother me until I came across 3 or 4 ITR with no vin plate on the trans and learned that some transmission were replaced under warranty.

It is possible to still find the VIN matching transmission. It does not sound like warranty work and I'd be willing to bet the VIN matching trans was sold by the owner locally. I bought my 01 PY as a shell over 3 years ago and dropped a JDM swap into it then put up posts in search of the VIN matching parts and found the transmission within days in a cut up f block h head b trans EG hatch.. I paid more for the trans than it would've cost me for a brand new trans from Acura. But that's what it took to get him to pull his car apart and give me the trans. I offered him 1600 just for the casing half with VIN intact and told him I would pull it and fit another casing half in and reinstall it and he wouldn't bite.. I ended up paying 3k.. then about 4 months ago I got the text I almost never expected to get.. a guy texted me saying he has my VIN matching engine and he's ready to sell it. He sent me pictures and I cried like a little bitch cause I didn't have the money and i thought it was about to slip out off my hands lmfao no joke.. luckily I have good friends and was able to borrow the money from someone until I pulled and sold my JDM swap.. I would've paid much more for my VIN matching engine than the seller asked for but he was not trying to take advantage of the situation like the guy who had my transmission. Maybe you should contact the seller and ask about what they did with the trans before you decide..
