I will try the other ecu I have. Also have a jdm ecu but I want the car to communicate with the scan tool.

Does the Canadian ecu / car/ fuse box/alternator have the eld? I don't think Canada allowed it on other models? I wonder if that's the cause of the idle issues if so?

That is exactly the cause of my high idle with JDM ecu on my CDM car. CDM Hondas did not have the ELD wired in. It actually has the sensor in the fuzebox but there is no harness to it.

Does your car idle fine with the JDM ecu?

I can't recall it idling any different, but it has been at least a year and a half since I put in the car. When I put in my other ecu I can put the jdm one to check.

Now that I think about it my hatch has the jdm ecu and the same motor. It idles normal .

Thanks for confirming. Basically CDM owners get a high idle with a JDM P73 003 ecu because they have no ELD system.

Btw did you have your windhshield removed and reinstalled to install a new upper molding?

There is a few posts above why it was removed. I would have bought a new windshield if the body shop told me that they were removing it.

Ah I see. I just read the entire thread.

Very helpful thread for me. I am going to order the ebrake button right away as mine has chipped chrome as well. I could also use the hatch actuator. I often have to slam my hatch to have it close properly.

My civic ex has a door actuator that gives me problems like that. I say it's haunted. Lol. That chrome knob is cheap but it sure is a pain getting it on tight enough. It is doable but be prepared. I ended using one of the rubber kitchen tools for opening jars. I was worried that would scratch it , but it did not.

I found this really old dyno graph . This one looks like the mugen ecu was the program. When we did this locash program made the most power. The eg was mine and sure seemed to show fall on its face when vtec kicks in . I had a few other program printouts but I don't know where they are.

This was my friends usdm type R dyno vs my 98 spec jdm engine using the same ecu. I think joes program made the most power on my car and the stock program was better on that application than the mugen ecu. I can't remember what number the 98 was.
