I can confirm the ASR kit Mike purchased did not clear:

This brake kit has been designed to fit under a 15" wheel, however not all 15x8 wheels are compatible.

Test-fit Approved:
-ALL Volk Racing TE37 15x8 +35...

The wheels above required an 8mm spacer. I will ask White Dragon & RBoosted717 to chime in on their ASR BBK experience.

So I’m actually running a kit most similar to Honed Development kit using the Porsche Boxster Brembo caliper. They don’t make a 5 lug version so I developed and prototype’d a bracket and cut them out on a buddy’s CNC. I use them with rotors from a newer Accord which are 11.5” in diameter and 25mm thick. I have to increase the center bore with a drill press and hole saw. I’ve been very happy with it for the money. I rebuilt the calipers and added anti knock back springs. My goals were longer rotor life and eliminate pad knock back on a budget and this kit did both of those things.

Per the AP kit, I have a buddy running the ASR version and loves it. Rotors are 32mm thick I think. Huge. A big benefit to the kits using motorsport calipers are that the pads are normally significantly cheaper. Rotors are expensive but should last forever. He was forced to use 8” wheels however which is a 100lb weight penalty for the class we race in.

Another buddy has run the RCrew Alcon kit for a few seasons and has been happy with it as well. Replaced rotors once in 4-5 years.

Another cool kit that isn’t as well known is from PFC. it also uses a thick rotor and pads, but the coolest part is the method the rotor ring attached to the hat. It uses a large snap ring with allows the iron ring and aluminum hat to expand and contract independently of each other. Pretty neat, but semi-custom. Not an item they stock.

I haven't actually had a chance to use the ASR kit. I basically test fitted it on my car to see what it would take to get it to fit and what it looked like with the TE-37s that I have 15x8 +35. I had to use 8mm spacers to clear the calipers. The smaller rotors in the pictures are the dba rotors.

Thanks! Not much info on the site about this kit. Wonder if it has the same challenges as the ASR kit. My wheel setup is 15X8 +32 TE37's. I'd like to not have to run extended wheel studs with a large spacer but it looks like options are limited.

@hondarcb - not sure I have the resources to customize a kit like you mentioned.

The Alcon is an option I looked into for the money I thought maybe going with the ASR kit but given the challenges I was just curious if anyone had luck with other AP kits over the last 2 years.
