Hi. I build custom catalytic converters. Any length, any diameter. I typically use viberant performance stainless components. My prices start at $300 plus shipping. Pm me if you are interested.

The jdm version is shorter . Both the two bolt flange and the three bolt flange are slightly larger. You need a jdm header and b pipe for it to bolt up. It also does not have a secondary o2 sensor . Instead it has some sort of temp sensor. Since the cat is shorter there is only one catalyst honeycomb vs the two in the usdm cat. You will probably get a catalytic converter below threshold code with the secondary o2 installed without trying to trick the ecu.

Good info, thank you. I know what your referring to with the temp sensor as oppose to an O2 in the cat. Its probably a thermal probe or something similar. In regards to the cat being shorter and needing a JDM midpipe, Are you familiar with the length of the JDM headers 96-97 and 98+, Are they the same length as US?

I think 96-97 are the same length as the US header. The 98 spec header compared to my old comptech carb legal header was slightly longer, I dont remember by how much.

I've wondered about going to an exhaust shop and getting a custom 12 inch cat (jdm length) made and see if it would result in no check engine light, and even pass ca emissions.

Get the CARB approved magnaflow unit. I have one and it passes smog here in CA. I had the ends cut and converted to 2.5 to mate up with my jdm 4-1 Andy SMSP 2.5 cat back.

Can anyone confirm the diameter of an OEM Acura Integra Type R cat? Looking at magnaflow they are saying 2" diameter, and if anyone can chime in about their experience aside from the flange not being correctly angled!

Another option for CA CARB legal is Walker part # 82506 - currently $600 on eBay. Any muffler shop can make it fit for a bill or two.
Here is the CARB search tool that can be used to locate a complete list of brands available.

First page of results had one for <$500 on eBay (Airtek)
Most I've seen are required to provide a 5-year warranty as part of the EO.
Print out the EO and keep it in an envelope in your glove box to make life easy for your smog tech.
