Bumping this for an update.
Decided to order a set of DTC-30s to start off with but was sent a set of DTC-60s instead. Apparently HAWK had some issues with the DTC-30s and put them on back order without an eta so the shop I ordered through sent me DTC-60s instead. Wondering if I should have gotten a more aggressive rear pad now to compliment the DTC-60s.
We've got an open lapping day on August 17th. If my car arrives in time and all the mechanical stuff checks out I'll be taking it out to the track. I guess I'll find out how the DTC-60s perform at that time.

There are two schools of thought here, both starting with, "
The rear brakes don't do much so..."
1.) Run aggressive rear pads, say a step down from fronts
Example: Rear pads -N front pads. For DTC60 fronts, DTC30 rears
Impact: Rears do "more work" but are more prone to lock up
Setup: Less impact with ABS, may lead to more rear lock up w/o ABS
2.) Run simple rear pads, since the rears don't do much
Example: Hawk HP+/HPS/OEM/Autoparts store rear pads
Impact: Rears less likely to lock up, ie doing "less" work
Level set: Front brakes do (large) majority of work slowing the car. I have run both styles with both ABS and none-ABS Hype R's. I would test setups and find what fits your driving style and car best.

Have you used any of the BBKs with ABS and if so, has it affected the brake bias to be too front biased? I recall your other post you had no abs with the bbk you currently have.
I really did like the step down setup on the gsr/96 itr brake setup with the ITR abs ecu and prop valve on a far less aggressive winmax w3 with stoptech sports in the rear, the bias wasn't too front heavy, but it worked well for autocross.

I wonder how AutoX experiences compare to high-speed (90+mph) braking?
I haven't used a BBK with ABS. The modulation improvement in my BBK helps prevent front lock up. With ABS, one might be able to more easily test more aggressive rear pads.

I have these used track pads. They are free to whoever needs them . You pay the shipping.

From my understanding these are made to order and not cheap . Better off being used than sitting in my garage.

For me, the quick bite and being able to use ABS to brake later really helped for autox.
I did see a lot of older posts about the ITR ABS going wonky at times with the same front and rear aggressive rear compound, but I need to double check those posts again to verify. It seems the rears with with a street or "sport" type pad gives it enough rear brake bias with ABS. I didnt wear out my rear brakes it about 4 years. I believe the fronts would last half as long so about 2 years?
I like some rear brake, I did the V6/98+ front calipers with the gsr rear calipers for a while and it felt like the brake bias was a bit too much towards the front. Since ITR rear calipers are pricey, I went with RSX/EP3 rears and the braking is back to where it where I like it. But these impressions were on street driving though.

This is related to brake pads in general. I recently put some new oem type r pads and rotors on my 5 lug gsr. I've noticed that the front pads (as far as I can tell) rattle and make noise. They may be slightly smaller (due to manufacture error?)than normal. I'm going to replace them and see if that solves it.

Are you still using the metal clips that are part of the caliper and caliper bracket?

Are you talking about the brake shims? If yes, then yes.
