So I officially registered the car (almost). I got my temp plates today which gives me 20 days to get through emissions since it was an out of state title it need to pass CT emissions. I’ll be installing my charcoal canister later this weekend. But one problem still is my CEL light that doesn’t work. I’m hoping I can lean on some of the community for help.
Things I know so far are it’s not the bulb, I swapped it with the oil pressure next to it and that still worked. Another note, I noticed the fuel pump doesn’t prime normally. It’s “always on” instead of priming for 3 seconds and going silent. Not sure if that has anything to do with it but figured I’d mention it. The next thing to note is the previous owner told me that he had a mugen cluster for a bit and to check the green film on back of the cluster as he could’ve forgotten to install the right one. I sent him a picture and he confirmed he thought it was the right one.
So at this point I’m stumped. Im going to be scanning it for codes this weekend to see what I’m working with.
Found more incorrect hardware. This is the driverside mount bolt. I’m heading to Acura now to pickup the other 2 kits shown that should be in today.
are there any wires cut at your main relay?
I don’t believe so Kevin. I will be dropping the lower dash panel on driver and passenger sides this week to check though. Are you thinking that because of the fuel pump issue or CEL function?

yes. the main relay wiring runs to the fuel pump and the CEL.. if the CEL doesnt light up and your fuel pump runs constantly then you have something going on at or around the main relay or at least with the circuit.

More upsetting findings.
Got the charcoal canister installed today in anticipation of passing emissions this week. Unfortunately, the purge solenoid valve on top of the canister plug is missing. It’s part of the cabin harness that I am certainly missing (just like my abs wiring)
I’ve got to start by inspecting the check engine light issue so I can move onto diagnosis. Maybe I won’t need this right away to pass. But we’ll see.
Has anyone ever figured out what secures to here?

I believe the oem purge line clips onto the intake arm as well as into the clip on the fuel filter mounting bracket.

Actually me and Stin found out earlier the stay on the intake is as I’d imagined, for the JDM model. It has a vacuum for the canister coming off the TB and secures there. So nothing on the USDM model goes there.
As far as the fuel filter stay, I think you’re right. I need to figure it out.

the purge line that runs from the firewall sensor to the canister does go into the intake arm as 9701TypeR described, at least on my 01 model it does. the line has 2 stay points. 1 on the fuel filter housing and the other on the intake arm. if you have an aftermarket line then it may not fit the intake arm properly.

Kevin, does that line also go under the brake lines by the firewall or over it ? The evap lines are discontinued sadly. The one I used for a replacement will not tuck into that provision securely. The original is hard and brittle. One thing I noticed is Honda lists a bulk hose part number for the evap hoses. Acura doesn't. Also the 98 has the little hoses off the canister. Finding a correct size even in universal was a pita.
