The JRSC is known to add a lot of heat. So methanol will help cool the blower and intake charge some. The water content will also raise the effective octane of the fuel in the combustion chamber. Both effects together help prevent pre-detonation or knock.Dave7CDMTYPER wrote:

For me this provides a greater margin of safety, though in theory it could allow for more advance or higher boost.

While I had some momentum with the WMI kit, I started working on the tank mount. Still a lot of work to do to get it to looking good but here it is in progress. I still need to get the shape where I’m happy and then will mount the deck down with Riv-nuts and m8 button head bolts. Tested the mounting deck just sitting in place with 50lbs. (full tank will only be ~30lbs). It held without any issue but bouncing it made the deck flex some so I’m going to add a center support underneath that will attach at the bottom of the tire well.
Also pump connection to bulk-head.

I was a little worried that the tank mounting deck would interfere with interior side plastics so I moved the mounting deck, tank, rear upper bar to the old LS and put the seats up to check everything.
Happily it looks like side plastic have just enough room for the deck and there was more room on the seat side than I had realized as well.
Should look very clean once it’s properly in the ITR.
I also received the 2 channel fluid float switch that will drive a low level warning and turn off the mini transfer pump I’m using to fill the tank once it’s full.

Honda came...or at least some of the first order for hardline hardware. More to come as I get it opened up.

Hmm, I thought the new door/window sill moldings we’re supposed to be glossy? Maybe I just got lucky?
