98-1059 is here to stay

Long day at the theme park. Came home, jumped in the pool then right out to the garage!

It seems once a person mentions these stupid little parts on the forums everyone goes and tries to buy it lol. Here is the now discontinued door seal I was missing. Also made a point to lubricate the tracks with the shin etsu grease. Windows work like new once again.

I was missing the rear inner seat bolt covers which are also now discontinued. I found a nice set on eBay for $30 shipped so I grabbed them. Decided on new hardware to go with the rest.

New vs old. These puppies were like $4 each.

Now for the real reason I came out here. Buttoned up the tails with the new gaskets. With the new gaskets I felt as if I was going to snap the little 8mm bolts. Basically had to tighten each one a little at a time. Very snug fit now.

Went to install my antenna today and tried to do the Honda recommendation of just turning the radio on, followed by yanking up on the antenna to remove it. I quickly realized there’s morning even coming up lol. I’m now either having to remove the inner panel to investigate it trying to just send down the new one in hopes of the antenna just being absent.

This was finger loose. I was going to buy the correct wrench for this but wasn’t needed.

Thanks for the tutorial Mark!

So I was able to feed the antenna into the motor no problem but I believe my issue is the metal sleeve is still stuck. ETCG recommends using an easy out which I do not have. Going to brainstorm another idea.

I had a similar issue replacing the mast on the LS. I think I pulled the whole antenna, removed the outer tube to push the left over sleeve up and out.

So after an hour of fiddling with the metal sleeve not fitting into the antenna motor, I decided to just remove it with the advice of Stin. It worked. Although I still have grinding and the antenna doesn’t go all the way down (not sure about all the way up)

Found some literature on eBay. Going to have this framed for the garage. Problem is deciding which side out.

Picked up the remaining power steering return hose I was waiting on as well as a new clutch tank, hose and clamps.
