Thanks guys for all your interest in my Type R. I bought the first one that arrived in Atlanta in July 1997, after being on a waiting list for almost a year. The son of the dealership owner wanted it but since I had a deposit for so long and I was willing to pay a premium "market adjustment" they sold the car to me.

I was running my own Honda performance/repair shop at the time. I worked 10-12 hours a day, and any spare time was spent maintaining and building my race cars. I raced SCCA showroom stock in a 1990 Civic SI against some great drivers you may have heard of. Drivers like P.D. Cunningham, Randy Pobst, Michael Galati, and Lance Stewart to name a few. Later, I raced several improved touring cars in ITA/ITB/ITC. The cars were all Hondas including Civics, CRX, Accord and Integras. With the help of Southfield Classics, we moved up to pro racing in Motorola Cup which became Grand Am Cup in a 2000 Honda Civic SI.

The only time I ever drove the Type R was from my house to road Atlanta. This is when I was racing or Spectating in an event. The next thing I knew 10 years went by (you'll see) and the Type R still only had about 1,100 miles on it. That is when I decided not to drive it at all. I did take it to have the emissions checked for a few years in order to record the mileage with the state.

Like most mechanics I usually built my own cars. This Type R is the first and only new car I've ever bought. I built a nice 93 HX Hatch into a "Civic Type R" with a championship white paint job and a Type R swap. This was my daily driver for several years. I'll post a picture of it next to the Type R. I'll also be posting some other pictures of the car as you all asked. I pulled out the floor mats for the pictures. I'm going to include a brand-new set of Type R mats which are still bagged and in the original box. Someone had mentioned about the pedals being worn, they just got dusty when we pulled the car outside for pictures. The tires were cracked with age, so I replaced them with Yokohama S drive tires which you'll also notice in the pictures.

In addition to the ITRCA guys, some younger guys at Barrett Jackson and Hemmings were very excited about my Type R. This makes me feel great, I have been a Honda guy since the 70's. I told them that I felt isolated, as nobody I know collects Japanese cars. They said that "I am not alone just ahead of my time." Now it is up to you guys to continue the tradition as there are more and more Japanese cars that are worthy of collecting and restoring, especially Hondas and Acuras.

I will be at Barrett Jackson most of that week, so come check out the car. If you have any specific questions I'd be happy to answer them. Thanks, Brian.

Anybody need a kidney? Guessing I could get 100k for it, should be enough to buy this and have a few bucks left over for McDonald's.
Thanks for sharing the pics, I hope the car ends up in the Real Time collection so that 1 day we may all be able to see it when we visit Road America for another EXPO.

This is a weird thing to focus on, but that front jack point looks untouched. I have never seen that before!
