We’ll see how it all works out but..

New Ogura Racing clutch system almost 2.5lbs lighter than the Exedy OEM clutch and ACT streetlight flywheel.

Not pictured but also done, swapped in the new oil pump with Toda heavy duty gear, and mounted up the Mugen oil pan.

Things are really coming along!

I'm not familiar with Ogura Racing clutches. I would be curious on the spring design is on the clutch disk.

@coolhandluke, @dc231 many thanks
Here’s some more shots of the clutch. In design it’s basically a multi-plate design but with a single friction disk. It has a captured pressure plate that’s separate from the cover. This is their “silent” type which adds a set of small springs on the flywheel which force disengagement when the cover spring is released, limiting backlash noises. It does use a metal disk so it’s questionable how well this would do in traffic but supposedly it’s manageable. Hopefully I’ll be spending more time on the track than in traffic!

Here’s a link to the product sheet. I have the metal 309 model. There’s an SE model as well that adds a cushion to the cover side of the pressure plate so pressure is applied more progressively (for improved partial clutch use) but I wonder about the life/durability of the cushion?

Got to bring a smile on your face walking into the garage. I am really looking forward to the completion. Especially the front end. Have you decided on the glass for the front yet?

The windshield will be pilkington, I have new quarter glass and the rear and doors will be the original from the ITR. New seals/moldings on front and rear glass.

I’ll probably look to arrange the glass install after the dash goes in.

Nice job so far on the polishing work on the header, I attempted to polish mine, but stopped partway.

Made a switch from (mothers) aluminum polish and gray (very fine) scotchbrite to bar keepers friend with the same scotchbrite. I’ll still need to do a polish but gave me a good head start. Just needed something more abrasive to get going.
