I’d either wait out the new 71R’s (early July last I looked?) or post over on the Sandbox in the 200TW thread for more input. I’m not sure that any of the other tires are going to be quite like the 71R in terms of handling characteristics and driving dynamics. I was going to suggest the Z3 as a possible option but I haven’t driven on them sooooo take it with a grain of salt (especially given that you didn’t care for the Z2SS).

Edit:
TR is showing end of June availability for the 71R. I’d just go ahead and put in the order so you’re already “on the list” as they begin to arrive.

Thanks, got the feedback I was looking for over on the other board. I'll probably stick with the RE71Rs. The rivals are appealing, but hearing that it is very surface dependent is a turn off. Seems like the re71r is still the one to get b/c of how good it is for mixed surfaces.

aw614 wrote: Mon May 14, 2018 8:44 am With my tires having maybe 1-3 events left in them, and with nationals and the rest of the regions outside of Florida running events, it looks like RE-71Rs might be out of stock, so I am preparing trying another 200 tw tire out.
It was the same story last year for 205/50/15 RE71R. They were out of stock and unavailable by April / May.

Last year they were available through Costco in Canada from Sept - November and then again Feb - March. YMMV.

I have done 2 lapping days, 4 autox, a variety of weekend driving. I am wearing the outer edges badly on both sides and will need to rotate left to right so they will last the rest of the year. I am on stock suspension so plenty of body roll and minimal camber.

I will need another set next season.

Discount tire also has their 4th of July sales going on and you can pick up RE71rs. I am thinking of placing an order now even if they might be delayed

I'm happy to hear the code works.

<- I wouldn't compare any recent tire to Azenis. Even the 615k compound is from ~2011.

Not a bad idea. I am learning it is good to have a spare set of these sitting at home for when the current set wears out. That way you are not dependent on them being in stock or waiting on a sale.
