Re: My other CW 98 type r
I actually started working on the CTR again and ran into a snag with the rear brakes. The calipers had been taken apart and refinished, but when i received them they did not come with the bracket / sliding mechanisms. Does anyone have a source on these? The pins appear to be available from acura/honda still, but the actual bracket appears to be no longer. Any help? Or does anyone have a full set of rear calipers with brackets available? I found some new oem ones, but $625 a lil pricey
Re: My other CW 98 type r
You can use RSX/EP3 brackets with your existing calipers as an alternative. They might be still available?

Re: My other CW 98 type r
i might actually have a link on rsx/ep3 brackets. but user oddomatik sent me a link of where i can buy bnib rear calipers, so i might end up going that route and then just sell off my rebuilt ones

Pull the trigger on new OEM you won’t regret it.noahf wrote:i might actually have a link on rsx/ep3 brackets. but user oddomatik sent me a link of where i can buy bnib rear calipers, so i might end up going that route and then just sell off my rebuilt ones

Re: My other CW 98 type r
forgot to mention, im also trying to get a hold of kingpin to do sphericals in my front lower control arms. because the ek9 uses stamped steal, same as the em1, its a lil trickier and need to be sent in. with almost everything else already being upgraded on the suspension, i was going to ignore these, but might as well refinish it correctly. I also looked into turning my own delrin bushings, but after some reading, the multi axial loads do not do well on delrin. so this is out for the suspension bushing for sure. so might as well send in and get the suspension and front arm bushing done correctly.

He’s pretty responsive if you get him on IGnoahf wrote:forgot to mention, im also trying to get a hold of kingpin to do sphericals in my front lower control arms. because the ek9 uses stamped steal, same as the em1, its a lil trickier and need to be sent in. with almost everything else already being upgraded on the suspension, i was going to ignore these, but might as well refinish it correctly. Re: My other CW 98 type r
ended up giving him a call and sent my lower arms out on Monday. Hoping to have them back by end of year which is the last piece im waiting on for a complete suspension rebuilt. I think everything has been done at this point:
Rear LCA's
Rear wheel bearings
Rear Bushings
Front Upper CA's
Front Lower CA's
Front inner bushing
Front wheel bearings
Extended studs all the way around
Rebuilt rear calipers (with new jdm ones incoming)
Ran twice Front Calipers
New Rotors
New Pads
New Brake Lines
Once the car rolls, Ill be able to get it over for the intake to be built and the mid pipe welded up, finally having a finished induction. The only thing left on the engine is to swap the injector plugs over to ID1000/EV6 plugs, and then its ready to turn on and tune. Hoping for a 2022 running car + track days.
