New Track Car: 2000 DC4
Introducing the new track toy, 2000 Integra LS with a K20A2.
First projects:
-Ordered OMP 6pt to replace existing harnesses
-Ordered Hybrid Racing Shifter kit to improve shifter position
-Alignment scheduled for Wednesday
I’m sorting through prep for this weekend’s community track event. The community are currently at Watkins Glen. I wasn’t able to attend due to NY COVID quarantine but I will be joining the community at the second event at Barber Motorsports Park.

Looks like you have AC, Power steering and ABS still equipped on it. Let use know your impressions on the track with the k series.

Yessir, I asked to have AC re-installed. I've been on far too many road trips say, to and from Type R Expo or the community track event to Watkins Glen last summer, without AC.
Track wise I'm with you. I'm very interested to track it with the increased power (first time) and go back into tracking ABS.

The car is currently on USDM ITR five lug (stock) brakes with DTC70 front pads. As I return my track EG to stock the Spoon brakes will be transplanted to this car.
At this point I want to give a huge shout out to two Nashville locals. They are both long time members of both the Type R and Honda communities, Bon (Bonb) & Topy (topdog) from Papaya Motorsports. Bon owns 98-0181 & Topy previously owned. I met Bon over ~13yrs ago at the various local Honda meets and Topy over 10yrs ago at a track event at Nashville Super Speedway. They are great examples of how awesome the community is.
Together they spent ~8hrs across a Sunday & Labor Day holiday helping troubleshooting a stubborn TPS issue that involved repetitive multi-meter tests at the TPS & ECU, plus loaning spare TPS & Hondata Kpro ECU's to test, multiple calibrations in Hondata for the TPS, and the final fix- all in 90* TN heat. In additional, Bon helped confirm my second big issue was due to the K-series shifter was impacting the air intake. An easy fix via adjusting the intake, but the issue was causing 3rd pop outs and preventing me from engaging 5th.
For the benefit of anyone with a similar issue, the symptoms:
-Erratic partial throttle 2000-5000RPM
-Hondata Kpro read TPS signal with car off (post-calibration) 0-100
-Hondata Kpro could not read TPS signal with car on
Ex: 50% throttle (~4-5000RPM) would net 1-3% throttle reading
-TPS voltage read 5v at red/black and yellow/green + confirmed ground
-ECU TPS voltage was under spec (.3-4v to 4.5v at WOT)
Day 1 Troubleshooting:
-Calibrated TPS
-Swapped in loaner Acuity TPS in place of OEM + calibrated TPS
-Reloaded fresh Hondata Kpro tune to original ECU
Impact: Car was smoother to drive but still did not read TPS in Honda with car on, consistent hesitation at 2000RPM and throughout RPM's at partial throttle
-Swapped in loaner Honda Kpro + fresh Hondata tune
Resolution Steps from Day 2:
-Relocated ground on backside of valve cover. Reason: Rubber grommet would have reduced effective ground
-Added fourth engine ground to side of block
Why: Testing possible short with car on for engine harness (TPS, IAC, MAP, all share common ground)
-Replaced none-OEM TPS bolts with OEM
Why: None-OEM bolts did not include washers and were digging into TPS plastic
-Replaced TPS gasket
Why: TPS gasket was falling apart
Impact: WOT throttle netted 25% reading
-Added washers between TPS & TPS gasket
Impact: Netted 50% WOT
-Returned TPS from Acuity (loaner) to OEM (Original) + recalibrated TPS
Impact: 100% reading at WOT
Next steps:
-Install fresh OMP harnesses from WeDontLift Racing. They are out for delivery.
Why: Current harnesses have a failing latch & are a brand I don't recognize
-Reverse PCI seat bracket
Why: My height and seating position preferences require reversing the PCI bracket to get a more comfortable driving position. I'm current forced to extend forward for the pedals
-Install Hybrid Racing shifter + shifter cables from Papaya Motorsports
Why: Shifting position requires fully extending my arm & engaging 5th & 6th is difficult. I'm concerned of missing 5th & accidentally selecting 4th. I don't feel like the reverse lock out is properly engaging.

I am continuing preparation for the community track day at Barber Motorsports Park this weekend. I have the car aligned at Honda and the AC recharged.
The alignment was off and the steering wheel wasn’t centered:
Last, I loosened and re-torqued all lower suspension bolts. ~Half were loose and half were German spec.
Torque specs:
Front outer LCA:
Front inner LCA
Front sway endlink:
Rear LCA bolts: 40lb/fb
Rear sway end link: 29ft/lb
Rear sway bracket:
Rear Trailing Arm:
We also started the process of charging the AC. Note, one should make sure they add PAG oil is the system components are new.
We hit a snag when the AC compressor wouldn’t turn out. We confirmed no power to the red wire (2000 model year) at the compressor and no power at the engine bay AC relay. Jumping the relay enabled the AC compressor, confirming a wiring issue.
It turns out the seller didn’t install the required relay for the swap but included it. Picture is the relay include with Hybrid Racing AC kit:
This relay needs to be installed into the original chassis ECU and talked into four wires:
-ECU B1 pin IGPB1 for 12v accessory (yellow/black)
-ECU B2 pin PG1 for Ground
-ECU A17 pin ACC17 AC Clutch Relay (black/red)
-ECU A27 pin ACS27 AC Switch Signal (blue/red)

-Compressor isn't getting signal = wiring issue (I thought I solved this last night via Hybrid Racing relay)
-High Side with compressor relay bypassed indicates a blockage
It's going to be a warm drive to Barber Motorsports Park tomorrow.
Next steps:
-Check torque on axle nuts
-Check torque on RTA's (I missed these yesterday)
-Lower seat further (still higher than desired)
-Finalize harness lengths
-Clean interior via vacuum & Simple Green
-Clean glass inside & out
-Apply Rain-X inside & out

Hope you got a discount with all those issues. Car looks good though. I had issues with my AC not turning on a few years ago. I would give a Han Solo slap above the HVAC controls and it would turn on. Turns out the harness connector from the HVAC control was melted.
