97-#00126 is BACK!

Most may remember my 97 I picked up back in 2012, rebuilt it for Expo 12, & sold in 2013. Opportunity came back up last month to buy her back, so an impulse decision was made the day it came up for sale and off my brother and I went to pick her up in Wichita.

Being that I’m currently building my K24 S2000 and having fun w/ my CTR, I knew I had way to much on my plate to spend anymore funds on another project, so during our road trip we discussed options of my brother buying the 97 off me, making a few payments, and will be funding any future work that needs to be addressed.

Being a Honda Technician and a perfectionist I had to go over everything to bring her back to my standards. I’ll share more updates and pics on the 2 weeks of progress we put into the refresh build. But for now here are a few pics to enjoy.

The CTR is like a body builder while the ITR is like a swimmer or runner.

Wow, very cool Brian. It's always fun to see OG's return to the roots or enjoy both the new form factor alongside their roots. I didn't even know you were in the market but I'm thrilled to hear you were able to land 97 #00126 in this climate. Congrats, enjoy, and the community are here to support you as you restore.

Appreciate Ryan  Hard to believe I owned my first ITR back in 2001 and back at it again in 2020. Damn Type R's just won't leave me alone, but it's apart of who I am and love. haha. Honestly, I wasn't really in the market or looking to get back into another ITR so soon, but the opportunity came up so it was hard to pass back up.

Like any OG, I've been lurking ITRCA around a few times searching the classifieds but knew Cooper had been tossing the idea of the 97 being for sale for a while, so I waited and saved up. Maybe one day I'll also reunite with my PY #000747, but that's wishful thinking not knowing where's she's at and what's her current condition.

It's pretty cool being able to own & compare both the OG ITR and new kid on the block CTR. Love everything about my CTR and it's insane power, but the old school feeling of the ITR's raw mechnical grip and that crazy VTAK engage sound always puts smile on my face.

Being that my brother will be buying my ITR and funding any additional work, I'm just happy that's she's back home. Our goal was to restore her back to a more street friendly ride, HPDE's, & Type R Expo trips. Hopefully sometime this week I'll work on uploading pics of the rebuild.
