Mechanic recommendation for ITR in LA/OC
Any recommendations on good and trusted mechanic for itr (that knows it well) in LA/Orange County of San Gabriel Valley. Also any experiences on body shops that can match Championship White well too. Thanks in advance!

It might be a bit out of your area but you could check with Anaheim Rod and Customs they seemed like a very high quality shop for restoration type work. They were one of the options I looked at and seemed like they would be a good partner.
I think the challenge you may face with trying to get someone to match paint in SoCal is that this sort of thing is really only something collision shops are interested in. For a number of reasons high quality custom shops are going to want to focus on large committed projects, and price to match.
I took a chance with a collision shop for the repaint of my ITR there’s good and bad things about this approach. It’s still likely I would have saved money and absolutely would have saved a lot of time by going with Anaheim or a shop that would have run the whole project for me. As it was it was so much work for the shop they said they won’t do any more full paint projects since it was way more work than they anticipated otherwise I’d suggest checking them out as well.
I can’t really speak intelligently about quality mechanics in SoCal. I feel like I need my car to be more than just another job/check. Getting someone else to really care about your car is about much more than simply finding a shop. Alternatively, it’s hard to find the time and sort through everything but I’ve found doing the majority of work myself a pretty incredible experience, even now I learn something about my ITR every time I work on it. It inspires more confidence in my car too since I better understand issues that arise.

You are totally right about shops wanting the bigger jobs. As my itr, is a garage queen I’m only looking to fix some scratches to clean things up.
As far as mechanic, I was just seeing if anyone knows a shop that specializes in the itr. Like the nsx community has niguel motors and s2k was ballade and evasive etc.

Loi spec garage know ITR's very well. I haven't been in touch, not sure if they're still operating or not.

If just some scratches check out Studio City Auto Collision. It’s a very small shop. George is a really good guy, their painter is really good and they only spray PPG.Willyboz1_R wrote:

It's not LA/OC but Trumotive in Temecula has served me well. The owner, Em Tran, owns a 1998 ITR.
