Nice little article about the Type R. This is a great magazine that only tracks auction sales results. I have been subscribing to this one for over a decade and it has a wealth of info and insight about all cars and gives you a good gauge of collector car sales from coast to coast

I wonder if that is PD's 97's in that image. I grimace a bit with some of the article details. However, since we lost all of our core info when ZeroForum was taken offline- I get it. We as a community still need to recreate our information on this forum.

Thank you for sharing! It's fun to see the Type R brand grow and formerly be recognized by the wider collector car community. Many of of us in the community have been predicting this for years. Our old forums are a testament.

Lost credibility when they wrote 97-02. (Yes I know you can get a DC5R in other markets).

However I agree they will continue to rise in value so long as the economy in North America is strong.

I'm collecting the last few stock parts I am missing. My 98 R has a clean Carfax but also 170km (106k miles) and I will keep driving it. :moneyburn:

I share your sentiment. I wonder if we should nominate a few subject matter experts to lead Wikipedia edits? While I would love for this site to become known as a credible source of truth, we are still rebuilding lost info. Wiki already has a known brand and glancing the pages, I see irregularities.

Definitely a miss on the 97-02 for the USDM market but Japan does report a single 02 dc2r being built in 2002.

Wow look at that. I have to question those numbers.

Does anyone have a 1995 JDM ITR? I have a feeling they were built in 1995 but sold as 1996 MY.

I agree and support the questioning. I feel you are correct, 1995 MFG date for a 1996 production.

Refreshing my memory between Matt's site, Wiki, etc. I see:

Wiki wrote: In 1995, Honda introduced the Integra Type R to the Japanese domestic market...

No. 20 Reference

New models are typically released and sometimes produced in the calendar year prior to model year. IE Honda would have announced the Integra Type R in 1995 either way. I also default to trusting Matt's research and effort over a random wiki article.
(This is also why I would like to rally a set of subject matter experts for DC2, EK9, FD2, DC5, and FK8 Type R's for wiki content, but that's another topic.)

However, following the reference link above lead me to here:

Honda.jp wrote: 1995年9月発表 2001年6月終了モデル
この情報は2001年6月現在のものです。
This matches the production numbers, ie we knew cars were produced in 1995, but the age statement by Honda adds weight that the model year could have been 1995 as well.
