I wish you luck. This might be the hardest of all the USDM parts to find.

I received the original cat with my 98 CDM but unfortunately it is loose inside. A friend even gave the original cat heat shields top and bottom.

New ones are out there? I bet Acura ate the new ones up on warranty replacements . If they are out there does anyone have a picture ?

I feel like there are very few people who bought a new OEM USDM cat and put it in storage. And used one were likely recycled for for cash.

I will likely have a custom cat made to replace my worn out OEM cat.

Both OEM heatshields show available for the USDM ITR. I have yet to find a quality aftermarket cat, especially one that isn't raspy. I went so far as to replace the entire exhaust with a JDM ITR setup from the header back, and had a bung made in the cat for the O2, no CEL's yet.

OEM cat still shows available for 99-00 Civic Si; part number: 18160-P2P-A00

I'm sure there is a way to make that work considering the Si was a B series with just a little less power than the C5.

My next custom set up will try a GESI “gsport” cat. It’s certified to federal standards, uses a metal honeycomb (vs ceramic), and the housing is stainless steel. Use of the metal honeycomb allows better flow (300 cell). The unit I picked up is 4” x8” (2.5” in/out).

Paperwork with it cautions against heating above 900c while tuning, while it’s rated to this temp sustained exposure will cause damage.

Looks like it’s $330 for the cat itself from Hpt auto and of course this still needs someone to weld flanges and an O2 bung.
