Replacing Hazard / Defroster Switches

The hazard and defroster switches are sun damaged and could use replacing. Is there a better way to remove them than to just manhandle them with a flathead screwdriver like I've seen in videos? I'm afraid that doing that will cause the buttons below the switches to shift out of place and no longer line up properly.

Thanks

This is not to say there isn't a better way, but that's basically what the manual says. Maybe just put a microfiber between the screwdriver and any point of contact with other interior trim?

Appreciate the help, will definitely use a microfiber cloth
