Anyone have the old school notes for what honda part to retrofit into a spoon caliper to make the stupid pads not rattle like crazy?
I am using hps pads with the correct section cut off and they rattle like crazy while driving.

Apparently the pad spring from the regular itr caliper works. I never tried it

I learned to live with the noise, either by driving with the AC on and the radio volume up
But it was annoying when driving with the windows down.

I have the same issue on my gs-r. Would love to find a solution.

I'm reminded of an old old post from Nolan on a fix. This never bothered me so I don't have first hand knowledge. Let me research and see what I can find.
Tip - here is a link of the
old ITRCA forums pre-ZeroForum. Note/reminder,
all ZeroForum hosted sites lost their data in 2017 when Skunk2 pulled the plug unexpectedly.

If you find something let us know. I've seen those other threads where people say that the noise doesn't bother them because they have Spoon brakes. I think that's crazy. It's an unacceptable rattle sound imo, makes the car sound like a junk yard special. The calipers do have tabs to fold over which are suppose to hold the pads in place but I folded them all the way and it wasn't enough. I had Mugen pads. My only guess is that maybe only a certain pad would fit properly so as to not be loose. Maybe Spoon or OEM pads would work better?

the solution above works perfectly - I ordered the brake retainers new and installed them - no more rattle
