Hi all. It seems the 1997 ITR cat has been discontinued. I'm looking for a quality replacement cat for a California car that will last as long as OEM (I've tried universal cats on my Civic that let me pass smog, but failed two years later).

Can you get a '98+ cat?

I wasn't sure if the 97 and 98 cats were the same length. But since the B-pipe part number is the same for the 97 and the 98 ITRs then the cat must be the same length too. Thanks! And wow, $700+ for a 98 ITR cat!

I'm almost 100% sure it's same length. I think all usdm ITR's had same length exhaust components.

I know a guy that rents cats for this. Lol. I loaned my friend one and he had it welded on.

I know that this isn't what you meant, but there are many after-market CARB compliant universal fit CATs that can be welded into place using your current flanges.
I found these 3 brands of direct-fit, 50-state, CARB-compliant CATs:

I used a Magnaflow direct-fit with mixed results. I bought it on Amazon. The price was right. But the flanges were not properly oriented: when bolted up in the rear, the front flange was rotated about one-quarter turn from the correct indexing. So, the money I saved for a direct-fit was lost when I had to pay a shop to cut and re-weld the flange. Also, Magnaflows do not come with replacement bolts for the front flange. On the positive side, it passes inspection just fine.

No I meant he was a jerk and ruined a community cat meant for friends . lol . I had the same problem with the magnaflo it came clocked the opposite like a civic cat would be clocked. I got lucky and got an oem one.

They are different afaik, b/c the the ITR diameter piping is a little larger? And then other integras had different lengths parts, like the gsr changed after '97 I think. It gets confusing.
