2001 PY in South Jersey - 01-1295

What's up guys. I never thought I would have to make this post but I think it's time to move on from this R I have owned for the past 3 years. My wife and I are moving out of state for her residency and the whole medical school loan repayment burden has me “woke” from a bit of complacency. I really wanted to make sure this forum in particular got the first shot if anyone was interested. I know some of you saw the car at the meet I hosted last year. Anyway, let’s get down to the details so we can get heR a new home.

First, here is a high level summary:
She is a clean titled, numbers matching (vins), mostly stock (test pipe), 5 owner 2001 PY w/ 99.7K on the odometer and wears badge 01-1295. From what I understand, there is good reason to believe this is not the original badge. I was told this aligns with CDM ITR’s and not USDM. There is no way to confirm this and I have not been able to track down the original badge from any of the previous owners. Paint is original except for the bumpers (which were painted poorly for the record). Two winters ago I tore down and replaced 95% of the suspension and with a mix of OEM, Hard Race, Moog, TruHart, Bilsteins paired with the original ITR springs. I documented this on ITRCA right before the site went down. The only components I didn’t get around to replacing are the motor mounts (I have a few of them new in packaging) and the rear sway bar end links. Overall the car runs and drives really well – there was a night and day difference with the suspension refresh! I believe this car is a really, really good drivers example that could easily be brought back to mint with some paint work.

The Good:
• New tires in early 2017 -- 195/55R-15 FIRESTONE FIREHAWK WIDE OVAL INDY 500 SL
• Over $1400 invested in suspension refresh (sale includes extras and all original parts)
• 8.5/10 interior with no fade in the back seats (thanks window tint)
• Strong running motor with matching transmission that shifts silky smooth
• Under 100K mile, VIN numbers matching car
• No underbody rust – she is CLEAN!
• I was told she also has a Mugen baffled oil pan but I have not dropped it to verify
• Brand new floor mat set (original set included)
• Brand new decal set (not installed)
• A bunch of other misc pieces & parts to go along with the sale

The Bad:
• Current CEL for EVAP emissions – hoping to get this fixed prior to sale
• May have a slow leaking cam seal
• Paint could use some restoration work along with a few superficial dings here and there – PDR?
• Probable non-original badge number
• 2 rock chips in windshield glass – has not grown into anything major
• Unsure when the timing belt and water pump were last replaced – I was told it was replaced at least once during her lifetime
• 1 rim has some curb damage – not bad enough that it couldn’t be fixed

I may have access to a lift so any prospective buyers can have a close look at heR.
With all of that said, I am asking $19K. I honestly believe that this is a great drivers example that could be made minty fresh with some time and effort. I absolutely do not have to sell and will find a way to hold on to heR if I can’t get a respectable offer.
I will update this thread with additional pics and info this weekend - including engine bay, interior and more detailed exterior pics. Feel free to text me @ 856-498-5587 during the day. Also see my imgur album below that shows some of the suspension refresh work etc.

Seems like a good price to me. How do you like the bilsteins with oem springs?

Have seen this caR in person 2 years ago at the NorthEast ITR Meet. Very well described in this post, some minor issues that are on the easier side of fixing and just enough for anyone who wants to turn a wrench or two in the garage. As said this is a drivers ITR and has clean title with matching numbers.

Good luck with sale Jared, let me know if I can help in any way....

I like that you said "I think it's time to move on from THIS R".... ;) I hope that means you will be back!

Here is a pic I dug yup of heR from the NE meet 2 years ago. :D

Sorry to hear you are letting her go Jared but life gets in the way sometimes!

Thanks to you and the family for hosting the meet, was a good time and you're always welcome at future meets once you guys get settled.

Good luck with the sale, hopefully she finds a good home

Thanks for the responses gents!

I'm really contemplating BaT but will let this listing "marinate" a bit. Anyone interested should certainly reach out! I am easy to work with and will be as transparent as possible.

The car does have a Mugen oil pan. If you do put it on BAT.. I would mention the quarters if I was you. GLWS

Sorry for the delays guys. I went ahead and took some video of the car's undercarriage, a walkthrough showing some of the flaws, and then a quick driving clip. Links to youtube below:
