P73 intake manifold vacuum line

Post by boostjunkie33 » Tue Jul 31, 2018 2:25 pm

Wondering what is supposed to be attached to this vacuum nipple on the back of the manifold. It's currently capped with a plug but I would like to fix it. If somebody knows and even better a close up shot of what goes there and where it routes that would be great.

Could be off base but if something like the JDM p73 IM that was used for FPR, on USDM there was a nipple on the front, toward fuel rail, of the IM

I'm positive my fpr is connected in the front. When I bought the car a few years ago it has a piece of hose attached to the nipple with a screw in it. I think it may be for the evap but I'm not sure. I don't think the jdm p73 has that nipple

i just went out and looked at the jdm/usdm manifolds I have and that is def a jdm manifold.. the usdm manifold does not have that vac port so it might be hard to find out exactly what it hooks to.. even looking on the OEM parts page under Intake Manifold you can see it doesn't have that vac port.

That is a jdm manifold . I have both and my jdm one is also capped. Not sure what it is for.

no problem ;) interested in seeing if anyone else can chime in.. does the jdm market have emission standards? the jdm manifold also does not have the larger vac port for the Purge Control Solenoid Valve like the usdm has.

Dc231 has got to be right about the emissions option. Maybe it's a engineering thought on s different evap . Below we are missing the evap vent on the jdm manifold second pic is the usdm one.

Here you go:
Prior to 98 UKDM and JDM TB had a extra nipple. This was used as a vacuum source to control fuel tank pressure.

98+ ukdm and JDM the nipple was moved to the surge tank.

So you have a 98+ UKDM/JDM IM.
