OEM (JDM) Honda 5 speed titanium shift knob

Bought from ICB motorsports about six months ago. It was brand new, and still looks brand new. No nicks or scratches. It includes gunmetal locking nut.

The shift knobs were never titanium, would have been super light

My brain is a little tired on this, but...

I recall the JDM ITR shift linkage being slightly different (color and counterweights) than the USDM ITR. I believe the actual shift knob weight differed because of this as well.

There is an old post on ht where they use coke and a 9 volt battery to turn the jdm knob purple. It didn't work on the usdm knob . They are a different metal .

Not sure if true/false but I read somewhere (S2K forums?) that titanium is actually heavier than aluminum, which explains why the TI knob is so heavy. Someone earlier in this thread said that if it was real titanium it would be light weight. I think that's a misconception.

A simple google search states that size for size, titanium is actually about twice as heavy as aluminum. Titanium is a much more dense (and stronger) metal therefore heavier. However, because its stronger, titanium parts such as exhausts, etc can be lighter because they can use thinner walled material for the tubing.
