Since the weather was somewhat nice today (and dry) I took the opportunity to work on my wife 98 civic lx and 00-1533.
I think the last time I worked on one of those cars was spring of last year.
I pumped up the tires and installed one of my red recaros in 00-1533.
I tore apart the lower dash and cluster in the 98 lx in preparation of replacing all the HVAC and cluster bulbs. I will be bleeding the brakes and clutch line I think some time this week.
On to pics

Pictures are sideways, but off to solid start. That Recaro looks prime.

Yep, I got both driver and passenger together from a friend of mine. He bought them mint and didn't sit in them much. The deal was too good to pass up. Im hoping to do a mini restore in early spring on the suspension and brakes of 00-1533

I hope this turns into another build thread.

If a build thread happens it will not be until late May/early June as our house isn't slated to be completed until May.

So this may turn into a mini resto thread after all. I may just have to tackle small projects one at at time.
Since I think its going to be nice this weekend I wanted to pull the upper PC pump bracket since its easly accessible and rustproof/prime/and paint using it as a test run for the other parts I would be painting like the lower PS mount, AC bracket, driver side engine mount, ect.
My question is what is the original finish
shiny black?
semi gloss black?
mat black
Suggestions for paint would be great. thanks

I used 2K Aerospray High Temp Ceramic Engine Paint Gloss Black and I'm happy with how it turned out. Glossy might stand out a bit much in an OEM bay though, I'm thinking semi gloss would look right if available in 2k.
The 2k paint is expensive but has been very durable. Where I think single component paint would have scraped as the PS belt is tension is adjusted and pump tightened the 2k held up like armor.

Updates:
I was lucky this week that we were given off for spring break this week. I had a few hours to work on my ITR and the wife’s ek sedan
ITR-
I pulled the upper PS bracket and bolts. I used a wire brush to clean them all. I test painted the upper mount with VHT satin black epoxy aerosol paint. It turned out good so I will be using that to refinish all the mounts in the engine bay and anything else black. I have new bolts for this project but their are boxed way currently with all our moving stuff.
Civic sedan-
I installed the eBay special “sir” front lip. It fit fairly well and actually has factory like mounting points even though it’s a little rough around the edges. I went to Lowe’s and bought some mounting hardware that best matched the oem hardware.
That’s all for now.
