Help wanted in locating Power Steering Components.
I currently have the looped PS setup with breather/tank and would like to source a full power steering setup (minus pump and brackets) from a LHD ITR or GSR in order to put PS back on to my R. This will be going on 1997 #305
- I am looking for every piece above and in front of the rack EXCEPT for the actual power steering pump and P73 PS brackets, those pieces I have sourced. I would prefer to purchase a full setup from someone who has removed theirs and I am willing to travel to pick up at a reasonable distance or pay for shipping.
Thanks in advance for any help.
-Nathaniel

Hey Navin! Hope you are doing well.. Not sure if I will sell it or keep it for my EK, but if I do sell it, you're welcome to it.
Thanks for the tip, I will reach out to Mike.

Not sure if you already know this but keep in mind that the power steering system had some changes in 1998 (I think just pump, hose and rack) and then the rack changed again in 2000 shortening the steering ratio from 16.1:1 to 15.7:1
If you have your original power steering rack and pump you will need a pre-facelift hose so it'll bolt up!
Good luck with your search!

Interesting information. Thanks for sharing that and putting it on my radar.
I guess I might have to play around with it some to see exactly what the deal is and what works and what does not... I am hoping that the USDM '97 R got some of these components early due to the EK9 development bleed over at the same time.

I can confirm the PS components are different for '00-01. If they are different from '97 to '98, we should document. My understanding is all PS racks were the same though...Yet another reason to document for the community.

1998 is when they made the change to the new pump style which also changed the hose and rack. I believe the rack is the same with just a change to the fitting for the hose. I believe it was in a brochure from Acura stating that in 2000 they went to the 15.7:1 ratio from the previous 16.1:1 ratio.
I'll try to find it soon!

Steering rack part numbers:
97: 53601-ST7-A61
98: 53601-ST7-A62
01: 06536-ST7-515RM
vs. None-R:
98 GS-R: 06536-ST7-515RM
I'm on the hunt for a 98 ITR steering rack to rebuild.

This is all good info! Thanks gents.
So, the question then becomes: Will the 98+ high pressure line connect to the 97 R rack at the rack? I would think it does.. So as long as I have a pump that matches the connection to the HP line, which is different between the years, the lower portion of the HP line should bolt up to the rack and work fine?
