Snuck in a quick wash. Had some residual power steering fluid on the frame rail from replacing the return lines so I wanted to clean things up. Never had an issue washing my engine bays. Let it warm up to operating temp, shut it off, and no direct pressure in the alternator. Broke out the brushes and put my 1 year old to work.

How is the finish on the bar? I’m looking to do the same but I’m afraid of getting a hazy/uneven finish. Maybe a coat or 2 of clear coat could help?

Pretty good. I didn’t bother sanding or really even prepping it besides cleaning it for that matter. Mine just had a bunch of surface scratches and scruffs.

The infamous, sought after by some, discontinued ground strap. Get over hereeeeee! (Scorpion voice)

When I replaced my antenna I really wanted a new gasket and nut but quickly realized the gasket was now discontinued. I was able to score that too.

Out with the old, in with the new.

Once I opened the hood tonight to install this stuff I really realized how nice the engine bay came out. For those interested in the process and products used:

-Rinse with water and 30 degree nozzle. Obviously stay away from direct pressure going into the alternator and dizzy.

-Foamed with Adams Car Shampoo in MATCC cannon. Let sit for about 2-3 minutes. This stuff is pH neutral, so no need to worry.

-Scrub tight areas with boars hair brushes. This was a great amazon purchase. Set of 8 assorted sizes.

-Rinse again with 30 degree nozzle.

-While wet, liberally spray all rubber and plastic with Adams In & Out detailer, close hood and you’re done. This stuff is great. Leaves absolutely no residue and restores blacks phenomenally. The pictures speak for themselves.

Thanks homie! I get a lot of inspiration from your build.

Received one of the last items needed for my exterior restoration. I was hunting this bad boy down for the past 3 months. Finally, Cris at iRunOEM was able to come through as he always has for me. It’s great to have people like him in the community.

Took a few minutes today to remove the optional side skirts and install the OEM ones I picked up. They’re not in the best shape but they’ll obviously be resprayed with the rest of the car.

Looks so much better IMO. Also, the optionals are for sale. Get to my PM if you want them.

I also went to install the missing passenger rear seat belt so my son can ride with me now. Come to find out, the belt they sent me is in reverse lock and I can’t undo it. I’ll bring it to work tomorrow and see if one of my techs can mess with it and get it working again.

During removal of the rear panel, I found this.

I’m imagining it’s for abs as that’s all that doesn’t work currently. Maybe to the ABS ECU?

I had a BNIB throttle cable laying around so decided to install it. That’s when I realized I’m missing the cable stay. In search for one if anyone has one for sale.
