98-0940 Anyone know anything about the caR?
Re: 98-0940 Anyone know anything about the caR?
I haven't installed the vapor seal yet. I am trying to find a old ht thread where someone used some thin playdo type stuff or some rubberized thin double sided tape from Home Depot. Never have to tear the plastic again. The sash tape I pulled off my driver side had some tape that looks like it would work well. My door panel weatherstripping where it attaches with the prongs , the little prongs decided to break so the doorpanel sits out to far . The part is discontinued. Sir me on ht was able to locate one for me. It's got to arrive in Dubai and then get shipped here.

That vapor sheet glue is nasty stuff. Not much else that I’ve seen sticks to those sheets long term.
Acetone works to clean it up with the least amount of mess and effort but will turn your rag a bit of paint color. :S
I want to say it’s some form of butyl? Honda does sell the oem replacement. It’s the same nasty goop so don’t plan to go back in the door or it’s all an exercise in futility.
I’m really not sure if I’ll put the sheets in though since moisture isn’t an issue here. It could help to cut noise some.

The nail polish remover was available in pure acetone ( white ) or purple which was diluted. I figured it would be less invasive than pure acetone and since ladies use it near their skin it wouldn't have been as invasive on the paint. I only had that one area wear thin. I don't want to use that glue again that is for sure

Ahh. The door seals. One thing I always dreaded messing with. What a sticky situation.
You got me wanting to grab some new door seals. I bet they make a difference. They look thicker.
Glad the ground finally arrived. It went to a good home.

A good WuTang mix CD would go nicely on your next Type R outing.
