Loaded up and heading to the dyno. I'm very fortunate to have a really good honda tuner local within 20 minutes of my house. The car was tuned by Corey Parish, the owner of Slowmotion Motorsports in Sunbury Ohio.

Had the throttle cable bracket bolt back out on my k tuned TB and get the buttefly stuck open and bouncing rev limiter during a pull (mild heart attack when this happened) but Corey was super quick with the reflexes and shut it off in no longer than a second. Got loctite on it and back to tuning we went!

Final results! Very happy considering this motor was from a wrecked tsx in a yard and cost a whopping $900!

After years of sitting in the shop and not a very good job of covering and protecting the seats, I decided it was time to give them a good cleaning.

You can see all of the darker dirt spots all over the bolsters here. This wasn't even the worst of it. I just didn't think to take a picture of the before until I was about to start the second seat.

Here you can see the dirt line after pulled out some of the dirt on the seat bottom.

The nasty brown water that was being pulled out of the seats. I actually had to empty the shop vac a couple times.

And the finished product. Way better than I ever imagined they'd turn out.

And next up was getting everything lines up for glass installation. It's actually fairly hard to find places (at least by me) that will come out and install glass for you.

Found a local franchise that sold me the new windshield and did the rest of the glass for a fairly reasonable price. Fortunately they sent out one of the most experienced tech's they had and he did a great job with everything. He was super careful with the paint and explained everything he was doing and all the products he was using.

I made a fairly smart decision a few years ago to go ahead and buy all of the exterior moldings, glass and associated hardware just to have. Quite a few of the pieces I've had sitting in boxes actually went discontinued so I'm tankful I got them a while back. If you ever do this, don't waste your money on all the velcro tapes and other pieces associated with the glass. I bought all that stuff and we didn't use a single one of them, haha. Oh well...

So during my initial startup phase, I had trouble with the wireworx headlight tuck harness that I originally had on the car. No matter what I did I couldn't get power to the fan connector. I also wasn't a huge fan of what it did with the underdash harness so I pulled it back out and decided to re-use the factory headlight wiring. Unfortunately this meant it wasn't plug and play anymore. I decided to just ziptie all the headlight wiring up and get the car ready for the dyno at that point. So I had to come back and address the headlight wiring after that was all said and done. I used some connectors from the wireworx harness and got everything back together without using any solder splices. Everything full length wire with crimped pins. I do want to add a connector on the passenger side and remake both headlight harnesses with milspec wiring and raychem, but that can be for another day.

After the headlight wiring was finished, I threw the front fenders back on.

Then polished up the headlights.

My LED conversion bulbs showed up and got those in. I didn't want the big bulky factory HID headlights and these turned out pretty nice.

Then went into polishing the paint some more to try and get rid of some sanding scratches that have showed up after the paint has cured more over time.

Heres the first side pretty much wrapped up. It's far from perfect if you see it in person, but not bad for my first time painting a car.

This leads us to almost present day. Lately I've been trying to sneak over to the shop every once in a while to prep the remaining panels. Here are the bumpers getting prepped for some body work.

Front lip scuffed and mocked up on the bumper. I decided the yellow needed to come all the way off. It was rattle canned and I don't want that causing any issues with the new paint goin over top.

Door handles and mirrors being prepped. I ended up drilling out the door handle rivets and I'm going to try and find some hardware to get them back together once they're sprayed.

Front lip sanded all the way down to factory primer and the rear filler with an initial scuff on it as well.

And lastly, my most recent black Friday pick up. Haven't gotten time to install this yet, but I'm pretty excited to see it against all the red and black from everything else.

Finally made it through all this and got some descriptions in. Hoping I can get some plastic weld in the one gash in the front bumper soon and hopefully get close to spraying those items. I still need to get some more interior put together, but my home garage is a mess with a couple other projects started and the car is just sitting under a cover. Hopefully I'll be able to post some more updates on that stuff in the next couple weeks since next week is my last week of work for the year!

Great updates on this build.
Would love to see this in person when the seasons change.
