Thank you for adding input. :thump up:Rboosted717 wrote:I've been pretty busy for the past month or two and haven't had time to post updates but as Ryan mentioned I did get a the ASR kit (made specifically for the ITR) and was planning to use on my daily driver (not for race cars).
As Ryan said, the ASR kit required a pretty decent spacer to clear 38, 35 and 32 offset 15" TE37's wheels but will likely clear the 27 offset version. The 38 requires a 11mm spacer, 35 requires a 8mm spacer and the 32 requires a 5mm spacer, effectively making the offset a 27 after the spacer is added. If you don't like using spacers or running extended wheel studs I'd recommend getting the 27 offset 15x8 TE37 wheels.
Unfortunately I was hoping to use these brakes with a true 35 offset wheel as I HATE the "stanced" look. Even the 35 offset wheels are a little much for my taste.
That being said, I won't be running the ASR kit on my daily driver or on the yellow or white race cars. I'll probably just sell the kit or will use it on my other white race car that has modified venders and could probably use a better brake setup.
It's pretty disappointing especially considering the white and yellow race cars use a similar AP Racing setup and can clear all types of wheels including OE. Unfortunately the brake setups on those cars were custom made by AP (they don't require caliper brackets) and are not available. For my daily driver went back to using the Spoon twin-blocks with DBA rotors and Carbotech pads. My old Stoptech 2pc rotors finally died after heavily cracking and warping.

What's the comparison like to the Spoon twin blocks?

Apples to oranges. To expand, just swapping to a stock size 2pc rotor over stock rotors with Spoons would be a change in performance. Changing rotors and calipers, from Spoon to Alcon/AP/etc., are a big change. I can make a dedicated review thread when I return.
In short:
-Alcon Calipers: Offer precise modulation
Impact: Wide range of modulation, but forces user to be more precise in braking. ie: User cannot
-Rotors: Larger rotor, better ventilation for improved heat management, unsure on weight vs. stock

Are the AP Racing brakes discontinued?

Just curious because I have spoon twin blocks with a 2 pc rotor setup I had custom made after Stop-Tech discontinued theirs. They're a much better rotor design but I'm curious to know how the Alcon or AP racing caliper compare. I'm running hawk 5.0 compound on Toyo R888'scoolhandluke wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2017 3:48 pmApples to oranges. No, Essex Brakes and others still have DC2 kits.
I also had the StopTech 2pc rotors. Other than the terrible hat and mounting hardware, yes, the rotor is superior to OEM rotors. The Alcon/AP calipers offer a different an dlarger pad design and more pistons. The impact is more pad to take advantage of the larger rotors and improved pedal modulation.JZMotorsport wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 8:10 am Just curious because I have spoon twin blocks with a 2 pc rotor setup I had custom made after Stop-Tech discontinued theirs. Can you get more stock sized 2-piece rotors?JZMotorsport wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 8:10 am Just curious because I have spoon twin blocks with a 2 pc rotor setup I had custom made after Stop-Tech discontinued theirs. This sucks, I hadn't seen this kit until the post on HT and was eyeballing what type of brake upgrade might be in the future.

Yeah it's pretty disappointing. I have a kit for sale if you're interested. Even comes with new/never used Carbotech brake pads (RS2).krazychowmein wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2018 5:48 pmWow...Rboosted717 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2017 12:07 pm
