I did some daido digging not much on metallurgy. Pffft.... I did enjoy the link. Rumor also had it, if my memory serves me correctly that spoon also aimed for near green tolerances. I'll also look for photos of a spoon engine I tore down a few years back. I love spoon engine theology.

Points 1 & 2, sold me.
I've literally had a motor built (in my younger days) by pros, set up with Honda bearings. Long story short if I didn't tear it down umpteen years later to clean the internals that engine would have spit main bearings out on startup.
OEM bearings were made for OEM specs. OEM power goals, rpm range, oil thicknesses etc. anything outside of normal, "upgrade," idk just me. Sorry to impose, just empirical data.
While I've never had an issue w/ cheap or name brand bearings(clearances are everything). I threw together a road race B18B using parts I picked up around the shop, literally slapped some ARP rod bolts and king bearings in it and that bad boy sung to 9500rpm all day making 175whp.

Thanks of JDMJNKY, I might have found someone to paint some body parts. I took off the bumpers, mirrors, and trunk lid.
The rear bumper is kind of a process to take off. Same with the trunk lid lol.

I'm getting two set of mirrors painted, because one set is supposed to be a JDM power folding version. Although comparing them they have the exact same part #'s as my GS-R oem mirrors. But maybe the JDM's are slightly heavier and have the motors inside? I wrote "M" on the one that's supposed to be motorized. I'm hoping they are legit. I have the rest of the wiring pieces for them, which hopefully I'll be able to install.

Here's a tip that will help you out with that rear bumper. You should have pulled the bumper off slightly different so before you reinstall it take that thin black support bar off (above the bumper support beam)and reattach it to the bumper. You will need to pull the rear interior panel to have access to the hardwares but it's a much easier approach to removal and installation of the rear bumper.

Yeah I should have noticed that in the pic because the rear filler panel has been removed.
With that out of the way you can remove the 4 nuts(#37) holding the rear upper bumper support beam(#19) to easily remove or install the bumper without the need to remove the filler panel to get access to the clips.
#19 is what causes the notoriously known rear bumper sag.

a dreadfully "simple" task...but, You break it, you lose! I'd say I lost sub 300 in yellow mirrors for my Subaru, but thats admission

Quick update. I got my block back from Golden Eagle. Still waiting on the head from 4Piston.
I have yet to start assembly, mainly b/c I'm nervous about what to do about bearings. I recently met a guy who builds race cars. I might "hire" him to help me out with this step so I do it correctly.
