I watched the auction live. It sold for $20.5k before fees. There was 2 98 Type R's that sold in the last 2 weeks. This one which was sold with a "non-repairable" title. The other one was crashed in the front missing the front end and had a damage radiator support. That one sold for $11.3k but that one had a "rebuildable" title. I have the vin of the one that just sold and I will keep an eye out to see where it goes.
The pre-bid of the car before the auction started was I believe $12.6k and it just kept going back and forth between California and Colorado.

20.5k with a branded flood title and non-repairable. That's crazy
Re: 98 Type R copart
The 98 with front end damage was for sale for 6k and they guy couldn’t sell it.

I watched it sell for $11 and change. The title on that car was rebuildable but it was registered in Canada at some point. It had fairly low miles also.

Sometimes the buy it now prices aren't bad. People ignore the BIN price to try and get a better deal bidding live and it doesn't always work out well.

They should leave the sale prices up like BaT does.

Copart doesn't save sales prices. Even if you bid on you lose the auction it won't tell you the final price. The other big auction iaai will tell you what you lost by so you actually know the sales price.
That $20,500 final bid doesn't include the fees which based on the selling price is $600-$1375 depending on the type of payment being secured vs unsecured. The winner has a virtual bid fee and a gate fee added to the price also. I bet the insurance company is happy with it's return.

Re: 98 Type R copart
That is straight nuts . State Farm probably just made a profit off totaling that car. Aren't they the ones trying to offer 6k on the car that hit the bear ? My brother used to work for State Farm. He told me they define them as an economic total loss when the damage is to high vs value. Seems like they are offering very low value on these cars but are on to the value. Kind of shady for them to be still trying pay these cars out based on gsr values and set a reserve so high. Does anyone know if the " estimated value " is what they paid ?Misterjew wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2018 10:49 amDave7CDMTYPER wrote: ↑Tue Jan 30, 2018 10:08 pm How can you tell what it sold for?
