It seems funny to me that you got a shell with a d16 in the trunk. :D

I was/am pretty upset about that, It was very unnecessary to even put it in there. It made it 10x harder to open the hatch. There’s a mess of oil in the trunk pan that I’ll have to clean up as soon as I get the motor out of there.

Yeah he said he put it there to get the car running, it’s an automatic trans swap. So I’m not really sure what he expected me to do with it. Seems like he just wanted to dispose of it and this was the easiest way!

Take it to a scrap yard and get some money for it.

If it's a y8 and good you can get a few hundred for it . They are no longer throw away motors . That is nuts seeing that body kit coming off.

I figured. Years ago a friend and I bought a wrecked 92 GSR years ago and parted out everything of value then stuffed it full of scrap metal from other projects to get rid of it. Then we called on the local junk car scrapping companies.

I went and spoke to my local scrap yard and they told me they'd take it for free. They supposedly are not buying junk at the time. I stopped by the body shop on my way to scrap it and my painter wanted it so I just gave it to him.

It was a non vtec engine, I asked around to see if anyone was interested but no one actually wanted it. I did not want to keep it in hopes someone would buy it and I have absolutely no use for it.

I can not tell you how many times we tried putting all the trash we had laying around inside a car on its way to the scrap yard. More recently they began taking everything that wasn't of value out and leaving it with us haha.

This weekend I was able to remove the engine and transmission. I borrowed my cousins hoist and it came out with minimal effort. Since the day the shell arrived I have been looking for someone that may be interested in the engine/transmission but no one actually wanted it. I did not post it for sale because honestly I rather not deal with CL's best.

Once I got the over-sized paper weight I was finally able to close my hatch again! Now it was time to take the car to the body shop to get the FF kit off as well as a fresh coat of CW. Due to my budget I am holding off on having the interior and engine bay painted. The engine in the trunk really scratched up the trunk pan and there are a few nicks on the engine bay due to bottoming out. My cousin ordered some touch-up paint for his PY R and the paint matched very well so I will order some to touch up the engine bay. I used simple green and microfibers to remove any dirt and oil that was there. Once I get the car back I will power wash it and make sure its all clean for when the motor and transmission will go in. As I mentioned before I also came across a donor car that I was able to get mint condition body panels from. So while the tow truck was on its way I decided to remove the front end I had previously bought and mounted all the ones from the donor car.

Tow truck arrived and I was able to snap some pictures of its current state. It's not pretty but it is definitely a million times better than it looked once it rolled in there. This was the very first time it has seen daylight since I brought it closer to home. I was VERY happy when I saw it since I was finally able to see some progress.

Here are some pictures I was able to take while we were loading it on the tow truck:

Body man says it will be anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on his work load. I'll take this time to work on freshening up the suspension and cleaning the interior.
