It was an exciting event to witness and see the Type R finally have its moment to shine. Hearing the reaction of the older crowd left most baffled, but then again who really understands these cars aside from us enthusiasts?!
I took many photos and looked over the car in great detail. It sounds like it’s going to a good home where it will be preserved in its current state, in a museum. Best of luck to the new owner and thanks again to Brian. It was great chatting with you!
I would hope that you have some pictures to share with us other than the 3 or 4 that were posted on the auction sites????
I spoke with someone who had a friend that was also in attendance. They said the car was more towards 96-97% perfect as oppose to 100% flawless. I expected WAY higher of a sell price to be honest. I don't think this was the right venue for top dollar, but it was def the right venue for exposure. Even one of the announcers said "this is the next generations rare collectible, and we will look back at this auction as a steal".

This is the part that a lot of people don't seem to get about cars from the 80s and 90s and the influence they had for many, especially when a lot of these are the "inbetween" era where you have just enough creature comforts and amenities, but also a pure driving experience that isn't hobbled by computers and tech.Dc2-ProductionS wrote: ↑Mon Oct 01, 2018 7:22 am Even one of the announcers said "this is the next generations rare collectible, and we will look back at this auction as a steal".

Thanks Ryan for taping the show and sharing. Really cool to see and hear the auctioneer and commentators speak on the car, even if a few pieces of info were incorrect. For the most part they had good factual things to say about it.
Two things. Dealer installed A/C I'll assume as I don't believe they were offered from the factory that way. I would have liked some mention of that during the sale. And the vtec solenoid looks like it's painted black. Or maybe that's just what they looked like new and I've never seen one. Or maybe an RTW ported solenoid for mega vtak crack was installed prior

The guy who won the auction I saw bidding on several vehicles and winning some....I think he could be a broker or wholesaler I do remember him being on the phone while bidding.
