Need help trying to find an ITR

Post by aklackner » Mon Dec 17, 2018 11:51 pm

Not sure if it helps at all but I have 01-0386. It’s also NHBP and was originally purchased in Morton, PA early January 2001. Last 4 of the vin is near 1000.

I purchased it last December from a seller in NH and brought it out to SoCal.

I hate to say it but if the one you’re looking for saw the regular mileage out there that my shell did be prepared for some rust issues.

Thanks everyone for the help so far.

Coolhandluke - If you find anything associated with that badge number please let me know. He is only 90% sure of that so there is a chance I may have to go through all the 01 VIN's til I find something that matches the first Bala Cynwyd PA address.

Jayhaire - If you wouldn't mind providing me with a VIN for a badge number before his or after his I will start my search in that VIN range to help save some time. As mentioned above I may have to go through many more but at least that would give me a starting range of VIN's to go through. If you would prefer to email that info to me my email is mjtsub@yahoo.com

Thank you!

Aklackner - Thanks for the info sorry to hear yours had some rust issues. His was garage kept and not driven in the snow for the few years that he owned it. I have no clue what the next owner(s) have done with it. Hoping its still alive and not wrecked or stolen etc.... I'm hoping its ok but the fun of this project could be a rescue if it comes down to that.

Jay's comments reflect what we have in our database. Unfortunately, the VIN to badge sequences for 00/01 are hap hazard at best.

jayhaire wrote: Mon Dec 17, 2018 8:49 pm I've been looking at our records but have not found that particular badge. However, the first 2001 ITR VIN is JH4DC23191S000060.

We have some nearby that badge number, and I can probably narrow that VIN for you. :)
Hi Jay I have started going through the VIN's on CarFax. Could you share anything that might be closer to the badge number? So far I have searched VIN's ending in 1000 through 1600. Do you or anyone happen to know what the last VIN number is for US ITR's? Just curious how far I might have to go.

It looks like you’ve tried almost every option. My only recommendation is if he went took the car to any shop that would hold a record. Maybe a separate Acura dealership or an oil change place. Anything in that range usually holds a record.

Unfortunately, our information is limited to what community members have submitted. Honda did not keep a record. Worse, 00/01's badge numbers are not in sequence with VIN's, making it more difficult to trace badge numbers.

That's a good idea. A service receipt may have VIN details.

DC231 could you share with me your badge number?

Coolhandluke I've got to think that the badge numbers ran in numerical order with vin numbers. I am not saying they match in anyway but if VIN # 0060 is 01-0001 than VIN # 0073 could be 01-0002 and so on. If I can find a badge number close to what he believes his to be then I could resume my searches starting with that VIN # and cut down on some time.

Vtecwreck - I thought of that as well even tried to contact the shop he had the windows tinted to see if they might have that info as well but have come up short. He actually used to work at a gas station where the car was inspected a couple of times but it has since gone out of business almost 9 years ago.

I think my only option is to continue searching VIN# by VIN#

By the way I have searched over 2600 VIN's at this point and most of the CarFax reports show salvage, theft, wrecked or no history for several years.

We wish this was the case. :(

I would be willing to collaborate on your methods. Several of us want to re-run the work previously lead by Andyt.
