Stin, are the quantities low on the roof moldings?

I never asked I just wanted to not lose out. I want to ask about the windshield, if you remind me I can ask tomorrow. The last time I checked on the windshield it was back ordered no eta.....

I would be very interested if these become available again. Otherwise the highest quality aftermarket glass I’ve seen is Pilkington. Had one put on my TSX (due to chip) just to check them out before use on my ITR. One for the TSX is extremely high quality, not sure I could tell the difference between oem.Stin1 wrote:I never asked I just wanted to not lose out. i tried buying a windshield in the winter and i think it was going to be ~600 just for the oem glass. i opted for aftermarket.
hmo sells jdm oem glass (used) for ~200, i almost went that route. i wish oem was available for ~400 and it would have been a bit easier to go with oem glass. thats after almost $200 in new moldings etc etc

I have the original windshield. I will replace it if I can get new glass. I don't think Steve would ship the glass but I very well could be wrong. I would only do it at the moment if I can get new glass. I am not a fan of aftermarket glass on Hondas , super pain on getting the proper fitment.

you are probably right about steve shipping. i sometimes forget that being 10minutes from HMO during work hours makes it a little easier for me.
and i only replaced my OEM windshield because it was cracked in a few places. but when it came to actually buying new oem glass i just couldnt spend the money. maybe if i were restomodding, not building a garage occupant.

So here in my state they have a zero deductible glass. It's a total sham and scam. Won't cost you a dime to replace. Here is the kicker , I call my insurance and guess who answers? Safelite! They will do the work no questions asked, if you want another company a " inspection " is ordered. The company that does it is owned by safelite. Total money grab and sham! We are also a dumping ground for inferior Chinese made glass . Acklander pointed out he got a pilkington and was happy. Maybe his is also acoustic glass on that car ? Also here even name brands such as pilkington have us made glass and Chinese. You wouldn't know unless you can check the dot code on the stamp. Your state may have better glass than mine.
Re: 98-0940 Anyone know anything about the caR?
You cant request higher quality glass from safelite that isn't their branded glass? I've heard of people in my area having the insurance company order OEM glass and splitting the difference in cost, but just having safelite install the glass. There are a lot of glass installers in Florida with zero deductible glass here, so there is some choice to avoid safelite. I've only had them repair a chip on my integra, but for my VW, I've been able to get oem glass.
The flipside is there are "glass installers" who fraud insurance companies ruining it for those like us who have legitimate claims. I had a repairable windshield with a tiny chip on my parent's odyssey and the guy was being pushy as hell to replace the glass even when it was not on the line of sight and right next to the rear view mirror.
